Worth the effort.
I genuinely enjoyed working on this puzzle. I love the unique shapes of Springbok puzzles. They feel like they are made with thick cardboard. This puzzle had more cardboard dust than I am used to, but it wasn't a crazy amount and was contained on a puzzle board. The picture quality was good and no missing pieces! Springbok also has good customer service. When I received a puzzle that was missing two pieces, they sent me a new puzzle. It was as easy as sending an email. Speaking of puzzle boards, I highly recommend you use one, along with trays to sort by color. My puzzle board accommodates 1500 piece puzzles, but this 1000 piece puzzle took up nearly the entire space. The pieces are larger than other 1000 piece puzzles, so if you have a smaller puzzle board it may be too small. My strategy is to spend a lot of time sorting the pieces by color, then get as much border done as possible, then work in groups by color. I finished the dark still area and the browns last. They were the hardest part to distinguish where they should go throughout the puzzle. I loved the design of the puzzle and the glossy appearance of the pieces. I felt accomplished getting this together. It took me about 4 days of sneaking in some time when I could. It can be addicting, so if you really have something else you need to get done then don't start this puzzle :). Otherwise, plow ahead.

Beautiful puzzle with a few flaws
This puzzle is beautiful, but has a few flaws. The pieces are flimsy cardboard which are cut very poorly. The edges are very jagged and they bend easily. The pieces are larger than most puzzle pieces (one of my photos shows theses next to pieces from a puzzle I am currently working on. The colors are vibrant, but the quality is really an issue. This puzzle does not have letters on the back like most puzzles do now and does not come with a poster. For the price, I would expect a few of these "upgrades" that you find with most other puzzles. I know our family will still enjoy doing this puzzle, but it is lacking in a few of these places.

Very pleasing original art
Hummingbirds and hibiscus is an original art image by Kimberly McGinnis. The forms are distinct and fun to work on with three included images on the work desk that you can do separately. As you work on this image, you feel yourself transported directly to the artist's workspace, complete with paints and brushes, and surrounded by plants. One gets the feeling that one has walked right into the artist's home, a delightful feeling indeed. Unfortunately there was fairly significant puzzle dust. I had to shake all the pieces in a colander to clean them up. There were also quite a lot of pieces that were still attached though only at the corners so there was minimal damage when separating them. I find Springbok's random piece shapes to be very satisfying to work on. Although it's sometimes a mystery how the pieces come together, when they do there's a wonderful aha feeling. As usual the Springbok box was pretty flimsy and overly large. I would far rather they include a poster and made their boxes smaller. But apart those issues, the puzzle was fun to work on and I found nothing about this puzzle that detracted from the pleasure of solving it. It was a very colorful and pleasing image.

Quality puzzle pieces, made in America.
We like this puzzle just fine. I had reservations about its quality at first, because the box is a little thin-feeling, but there was nothing to be concerned about. The puzzle pieces themselves are nice and thick. There were a couple pieces that were not cut all the way through at the corners, but it didn't concern us at all. You can carefully pull them apart, or just leave them. Overall, everything was cut pretty clean. The pieces fit together very well and are strong. Like most puzzles, there was a lot of dust in the bag when we first opened it. This was expected, so it didn't bother us. We opened the bag and dumped it slowly into the box so that most of the dust stayed in the bag. Overall, we really like the puzzle. We do think the quality is pretty good and we enjoy the odd shaped puzzle pieces. It's fun when you pick up a puzzle piece and it's a crazy shape! We also appreciate that these puzzles are made in the USA out of 100% recycled materials. They are non-toxic with soy-based ink. We really appreciate the company's concern about the environment. Overall we're pretty happy with this product and would recommend it.

Hummingbirds and Hibiscus 1000 Piece Puzzle
I go from loving this puzzle, not not loving it at all. The picture keeps me going, I love the theme and how colorful it is. I like a puzzle that makes me happy when I look at it and keeps me going. The pieces are a nice size, over an inch, yet they are challenging, which I appreciate. That's where it stops. I don't understand how a puzzle company continues to make these with so much puzzle dust, even the box was a mess and that was before I opened the bag (which is not reusable, btw) . Plus most other puzzle brands I've done have posters to help guide you, they never include a poster. For a 1000 piece puzzle, that sure would be helpful.

Fun but quality issues
Love the design. It's really pretty with vibrant colors. Note that the final size of this puzzle is larger than your typical 1,000 piece - it barely fit on my puzzle table. I wish the quality of the puzzle itself had been better. The pieces weren't cut very precisely. There were lots of pieces still stuck together, jagged edges, and way more dust than usual. Some of the poor cutting made it difficult to tell which were edge pieces or not, since even straight edges weren't always totally straight. I also felt the pieces could have snapped together better. I would barely touch them and pieces I'd put together would fall apart. It's still a fun puzzle and looks great. I was just expecting a bit better quality from this well-known brand.
