Magformers are the best! Get several sets
Magformers are a great especially for school-age children. I have several different sets. I work as a counselor in a public school and all the kids love them. This is a very basic set - so I strongly recommend buying this set only to add to an existing collection. I made my original purchases from QVC. The only thing lacking in the QVC sets were the Idea booklet that shows many construction ideas. I wanted to add some more basic pieces to my larger QVC set, so this was perfect for me. The squares and triangles are used the most. It's a fun activity for all ages - even adults. Magformers aren't as widely known about as Legos, and it's a different activity than Legos --but if you are looking for a good gift for a child, I strongly suggest considering Magformers. ***Please note that I do not recommend this small basic set for a gift by itself; buy this set in addition to a bigger set. There are many choices available. It may seem a bit expensive, but it's really a great value when you see how much fun you will have.

My 15 month old adores these magnets, the actual magnetic bits are encased in plastic so unless she breaks these open there's no risk of her swallowing them. She loves to stack them and move them around on the fridge. As an added bonus these magnets aren't only fun for her but they're fun for mom and dad too! While these magnets are great the 14 piece set is more like a booster pack for the larger sets as you can't really create a ton of things. We plan on getting some of the larger/more complex sets as her ability to manipulate them grows.

amazing toy for babies and older---but might need more pieces
We were recently visiting my best friend when we saw baby had these. They were such a hit with my 4 year old that we bought this 14 piece set. It's very rare for my little ball of energy to sit and do anything for very long but these do keep his attention better than other toys. We also take them to restaurants and in the car to keep him entertained. I gave it 4 starts b/c I feel like we might have to buy more. You can't really build much with just the 14 pieces.... I think it depends on the age of the child. My friend just had the pack of 6 and that was fine for her less than 2 year old. I say if you have a 3 year old or up to go ahead and get the pack with more pieces.

LOVE our Magformers!
I've bought these for my 6 y/o daughter and her 6 y/o cousin, and they both LOVE IT! This 14 piece set is small, but worth the price and makes a great gift! I've since purchased another, larger set for my daughter and can't wait to see how much fun she has with all the neat things she can build with it. They are well made, the plastic is not overly-flimsy, and the colors are beautiful. The magnets are pretty strong too. I've yet to meet a kiddo that doesn't love playing with these. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Yes, yes, yes
I love love love magformers. They are fun for all ages! The are a little pricy but great quality. Toddlers up to 8 years olds can play together and have fun creating things. This gift set is a smaller one but I got it as a gift just because it knew it was something the family did not ave and I wanted them to get a chance to see if they liked it before the invested in a larger set!

My toddler loves this toy!
These magnets are so much fun to play with, my daughter loves it. She gets so creative with the different arrangements she can make with them and also loves sticking them on to magnetic surfaces in the house. I need to buy her a larger set so she can expand on her creativity and play with them. They are also great b/c they are small and easy to take with us on trips and other locations where I need to have a toy to keep her entertained.

Love the Magnetic tiles.
The concept comes with these magnetic tiles to make a 4 dimensional presentation is absolutely stunning. Magnetic tiles is limited in numbers so does the possibilities but worth my money. This give enough explanation to little mind as if they can understand simple mechanisms of joining things to build something out of nothing. Easy to be handle by toddler and join to make presentation. This toy not only strength the hand who handle these tiles but also the mind to concentrate and picture how does the final project looks like. Pictures at the back of the box also give few more possible shapes could be made and easy work without any adult supervison . Recommend to all kids including adults who like to engage with simple activity. .

Good quality toy
My four year old loves these toys. Needs some help figuring them out, but has fun and gets to be really creative with these. I look forward to adding the additional cranks to his set in the future. He has two sets now and they are so durrable. You get what you pay for with this brand.

Worth the price
We keep the pieces on the fridge as an appropriate option for our toddler to play with vs. Our regular fridge magnets. The magnets are strong and very high quality so I dont have to worry about them breaking apart and becoming dangerous. My son loves to build things, and we work on our shapes and colours using these. I was reluctant to spend the money, however it's proven to be worth the price.
