Not a Puzzling Purchase
We bought these to make invitations to my daughter's sixth birthday party (it had a "spy" theme) and to use for a game we planned for the same party. We were hesitant to make this purchase at first because the price was a little more than we had originally planned, but we went ahead and made the purchase anyway. This was the right call. PROS: These puzzles are high quality and very easy to use. After we made the invitations (which we took apart and gave to friends so they could put them together to read the invitation) and used another for a game (we made a scavenger hunt in which puzzle pieces were hidden around the yard and the kids at the party put them together to find the final clue), my kids and I played with the ones that remained. We used a black Sharpie on the invitations, and my kids drew on them with markers and crayons. Every type of material worked well. These puzzles are sturdy. At one point, we spilled a glass of water on a few of them, and they were basically fine once they dried out. They're thick and durable. CONS: We paid $12.99 for these, and that felt a bit expensive (considering it was a birthday party expense and those can add up), but considering you get 24 of these, it's reasonable. Still, these particular puzzles are smaller than other options (5 1/2 by 8) and might not be satisfying for some. For our purposes, they worked well, but they are small. And they are very easy. We got the 12-piece puzzles because we felt that was most appropriate for the age range of our audience. Larger puzzles will be harder of course, but the difficulty level is minimal. The puzzles were a little challenging to write on, of course, because of the puzzle cuts, but it wasn't impossible. A puzzle with more pieces, obviously, would be harder. This was a fun purchase and we were lucky enough to have some puzzles left over to do some fun craft projects with. A good time had by all.

MAKES LEARNING FUN!
My 3 year old son has gotten into jigsaw puzzles and is also obsessed with the alphabet and the solar system. I looked everywhere for an alphabet jigsaw puzzle and came up empty. I got these and so happy I did. I made a sight word puzzle for him and sent a picture of it to his preschool teacher and she ended up paying me to make her one for the preschool. It was a little bit of trial and error but I have found things I liked and didn’t like about them. PROS: - Creativity/ options are limitless - Perfect size - Easy to store - Great tool to encourage fun learning - Works well with markers My thoughts/ things I learned - It will most likely get dirty fast if you leave it white and don’t seal it. As it is an uncoated surface. - Painting it was a mistake but it was probably due to that puzzle already being taken apart and put back together so the paint seeped in between the pieces making the pieces swell and not fit well together. I spent a long time trying to sand them back down to fit. - I tried 3 different sealers: Mod podge Acrylic paint sealer Spray acrylic sealer The spray sealer was the only one I would recommend because it doesn’t collect at the connecting areas like painting it on does. I would also recommend completing everything on the puzzle before taking it apart for the first time.

Better than expected
Better quality than I expected. I was afraid that these would have an undesirable texture. They have a little texture, but nothing I can't deal with. The manufacturer says not to use gel pens on them because they might smear, but I covered a whole puzzle with gel pens and I had no smearing. THE PHOTO IS CROPPED in a wonky way. The puzzle is normal around the edges. For the gel pens, I just used the ordinary precautions one would use with gel pens -- simply wait until the drawing dries before touching the surface. They are a tiny bit thinner than some other puzzles I've used, but they are OK. They come apart more easily than some other puzzles I've used, but that may be a good thing. The pieces don't require removal of little tufts at the corners of each piece the way some puzzles do. Good value.

Fun for kids! A great versatile craft staple!
This was a fun birthday gift for our 8yo son who wanted to have some puzzles of his favorite things--some very specific things--like his favorite Nerf Dart Gun. So it was a great art lesson to practice drawing the gun in order to draw it on the puzzle. These make a great gift--either to give as blanks, or to make a custom puzzle of someone's favorite subject. These could also be used to make invitations, or prizes/party favors, or make a party game/scavenger hunt, etc. If you're creative, you could think of a lot of different ways to use these! Even for scrapbooking, card-making, decorating, and more. It was a great price for the 12-pack. They are sturdy, and the pieces fit together snugly enough to move the whole puzzle, but not too tight or too loose for solving or disassembling. Great size for mailing in a 9x12 envelope, too! They even fit in a folder or a plastic sleeve protector if used for a school project!

It is not great for sublimation
I am giving this seller a 5 star review as it is not their fault that the product was put under sublimation blanks. In their ad it does not say sublimation. I did not read it properly I just assumed as it came up so it is my fault and amazons for putting it in sublimation blanks. The puzzles are nice though. I can't use them but they are nice.
