This is not my favorite LOOKING pen, but it IS my favorite WRITING pen! Hands Down!!
While this is a gorgeous pen, still, it is not the most gorgeous one that I own. As I, like many of you who may come to read this, have many, many pens. And as far as looks are concerned, I have an Asvine fountain pen, which actually resembles this pen in a great many ways, only, it is much more pointed/rounded at each of it's ends (which, just so happens to be the single defining characteristic of that pen, which makes it so much more beautiful than this one in particular... If Hongdian made a pen like this one, which also had a more rounded/pointed shaped tip at either end of the pen, they would have a winner, for BEST PEN ALL AROUND in my collection, provided it also wrote the same way that this one does!) The thing that is astonishing about this pen in particular, is it's nib I guess, is what would be responsible for it writing so very well, and for it FEELING the way that it does when I am writing with it. Which, in the end, is the single most important factor of a pen that will decide whether or not I will use it all of the time, or just frequently - should my more preferred pens be in need of filling, or cleaning, or whatever. This pen not only writes gorgeously, providing a nice, wet, and clear line, and just the exact right amount of feedback when writing on my favorite paper (which happens to be printing paper, which I purchase, and use my printer in order to print out lined, or dotted, or graphed paper upon which I then use this, and all of my many other fountain pens to write), but something about it - I'm not exactly certain just WHAT "it" is - also makes my handwriting look that much more interesting, and even more, presentable, I dare say... This pen is just a pure joy to write with, and I am a person who enjoys the art of putting a pen to a piece of paper, and writing in order to communicate, or to tell a story, or even just to write, just to write! So I absolutely love this pen, and it has quickly become an irreplaceable addition to my collection. If something were to happen to it - God forbid - I would instantly have to jump right back on Amazon, and place an order for a replacement! And as it happens, I am already planning to purchase several more of these, just so that I can have one in different nib sizes, and in different aesthetics, as far as design, and color/finish are concerned! I really love this pen, and I hope that I am able to enjoy it for many many years to come. And I would highly recommend this pen to anyone who is looking for a fountain pen that is, well, just MORE than so very many of the other more ordinary pens found here on Amazon, or anywhere else for that matter! If you are looking for a new, beautiful pen to purchase, that will write well, and look magnificent while doing so, then look no further!

Great value
I decided to amend my review as the pen has really grown on me over the last week or so. I originally mentioned although it was a nice pen, there was just something not quite right and I was planning on sending it back... Well, I decided to give it another go (partly because I ripped the box ????) and not return it and I'm really glad I did. The nib is superb, a really nice writer straight out of the box, really well tuned, not dry but not too wet, nice and smooth but not glassy smooth, there's a hint of feedback. I went for a fine nib and it's a western fine. The pen is really well made, piston is smooth and fills the pen in a couple of rotations although it's more of a captured converter so don't expect a huge ink capacity or to be able to see the ink swilling about as much as in a TWSBI Eco or Asvine P36 etc. Lookswise, very shiny, a couple of the pictures make it look a bit more of a matte finish which I would have preferred but it's still a good looking pen. The finial looks great. It comes with a tool to unscrew the piston so you can give it a deep clean. Compatible with Leonardo pistons, too.

Amazing fountain pen, Less stellar case
The fountain pen was amazing. The nib is juicy and writes like magic. It is the best fountain pen that i own. I would have gave this pen a 5 star if the case had only been a bit better. The lid fell off the fountain pen case and i had to keep snapping it back on. Overall if you don’t mind the bad quality case, BUY THIS PEN!!!

Beautiful pen
Beautiful pen. Flows nicely and the weight is perfect. It's not that comfortable to write for long periods of time tho.

Beautiful pen, but filling it is problematic
It's a STUNNING pen, but I ended up just taking the nib out and filling it with a syringe. I couldn't get the filling mechanism to work properly, and I'm sure I messed it up somehow, but it doesn't seem user-friendly to me.
