An interesting concept that translates weakly to controller-based gameplay
Architect Life on PS5 is an interesting game that walks you through the basics of house design before turning you loose to to build whatever you want, within the realm of physical possibility. Unfortunately, it is really hampered by having to use a controller. I play on a 120” projector screen which made it pretty easy to see everything that was going on. There is a strong assortment of tools on a virtual desk that you use to plan and create various houses. The conceit is pretty straight-forward and works fairly well. For fans of construction and design games this should be right in your wheelhouse. Sadly it seems to be conceived of with keyboard and mouse control in mind. Trying to get so much control into the PS5’s Dual Sense is burdensome at best and exasperating at worst. The base gameplay is strong, but I can’t play for very long before frustration sets in. If you have more patience than I, it’s a good choice in the genre.

Fun home building game
The game is very fun and I could see myself playing for hours at a time. It's a little intimidating at first because it seems complex but once you've played the tutorial amd have built a few homes it's actually pretty easy theres multiple levels of gameplay which is nice (you get to decorate and furnish the homes as well), overall a fun game

Ok game but not what I expected
I was hoping/thinking this would be more of a house building, and decorating experience more align to the Sims minus the people management.

Short and simple
The game itself plays decently enough, being stable from what I could do with it. It's something like 60 levels, but they're pretty short and easy to get through, making this a game that's more for the sake of just passing a little time than really devoting time to mastering anything. It reminds me a lot of other similar games, like house flipper, but without most of the mechanics involved. I did notice that the case is misprinted, reading "A house deisgn simulator", but I found no other real issues with the game, aside from simplicity. Honestly, this is a game that should be listed as 20 dollars, given what I got to see. 40 is a bit too much for what you are going to get here, since it's basically just an overhauled mobile game.

I enjoyed it. It has it's limits, but it's a game after all.
A fun little game, good graphics. Like something you'd see on a mobile platform, but for the PS5. I like that there are challenges, to build a building/home with certain parameters (2 bathrooms, living room, etc etc) or you can "free build" and just make whatever you want. I wouldn't use this to draft a house or anything, but it's pretty accurate for being just a game. Nice way to pass the time if you like building things.

Good game, but for how long
I am a huge gamer and found this little gem. It's very fun to play it, but gets a little boring for people that don't usually play a game like this. Definitely recommended

Steep learning curve
I tried to play Architect Life with our 9 year old a few days ago and base this review on that first experience. It's much too young for him, but even as an adult, I found this game intimidating. The interface is not intuitive and will take time to learn. Admittedly, this is not a mass market game. I tried to do free build and was confused about why I couldn't change the Budget. Guidance should be better. I had to watch a YouTube video just to figure out how to get started.
