Watercolor pan replacements
It is nice to be able to replace old watercolor pans. These have nice, bright colors with good staining ability.

It’s Prang
This is an affordable way to upgrade watercolor trays in the Art room. It is very easy to remove and insert these replacement trays. The colors are very consistent from insert to insert.

I thought assorted colors meant the trays would all be different, but they each have the same colors. My misunderstanding, though.

Vibrant Colors Without Breaking the Bank
This is a refill set, so there are no covers or brushes, but if you are like my family we have dozens of those types of items laying around the house anyway. My daughter runs through a watercolor tray in about a month. With these, I can just pop in the next one. The real wonderful thing about these are that it brings the price down to around 2 bucks per tray, putting the price on par and sometimes less than brands that lack the same vibrancy such as Rose Art and Crayola.

Was this even prang paint?? Many of the refill trays were super sticky.
Over half of the refills I ordered (I ordered 20) were full of sticky paint. Not the normal prang watercolor I know. Even with water and wet brushes, the paint would just stick to the brushes. Couldn't even get all the paint off the brush when trying to rinse it off in water cups or the sink. Because kids couldn't get all the sticky paint off their brushes between colors, the other colors all got mixed up. Not the kids fault. They tried following directions to clean their brushes.

Good value
Only brand that my grandchildren's school will accept. The colors do seem deeper and being able to replace the strip is a nice feature. I like that it comes in a set of three.

formula has changed over time.
I am so sad. I have purchased this several times over the last few years. I teach water color painting and have always been so happy with these. I Love the Semimoist Prang. and would absolutely give 5 stars until the most recent purchase the paint is totally different. instead of true red it is very orange, instead of pure black it bleads out blue and green. I hate it. I threw them away. I would love to know why they are different. I want to buy more but of the old kind. I will change my review if it can be fixed.

Good for the classroom but don’t last long.
The best student grade watercolors on the market. Rich colors blend well only drawback is they do not last long.
