Love, love, love these!
We are all about art at our house and I could not resist these paint sticks. I was not exactly sure what they were, and when they came I had a really great time trying them out. If you have ever used gelatos, this is very similar and in fact I got my gelatos out for a side by side comparison. The gelato stick is much smaller (see photo). First I tried these paint sticks out on a piece of textured watercolor paper and they did not blend very well as the color stays on top of the texture. This would not be my first choice of a substrate. I tried blending the colors with a paint brush and the color still stayed on the top and never got down into the nooks and crannies. Next I tried both the paint sticks and the gelatos on a piece of 110 lb. White card stock. Much better! This is a nice heavy weight smooth surface and I almost couldn’t stop playing. I tried blending both the paint stick and the gelato with a wet paint brush and they both blended surprisingly well. I loved the paint stick so much more than using the gelato for several reasons. Here they are: Very creamy texture, almost like using lipstick on paper Vibrant colors The metallics have a subtle sheen Much bigger stick, so the contact point is larger Easier for toddler hands to hold In my opinion these are great for young children ages 18 months (with supervision) and up, and would be a different take on a crayon. Because they are in a tube, there are no worries about breakage. Older kids might like using a wet paintbrush. I honestly loved using these so much and I can see why kids would take a tube of their moms lipstick and draw all over everything. I think that my pulse rate actually went up as I was playing with these….there is something very satisfying when you feel the colors gliding along the paper. I would highly recommend this set and would purchase it again! EDIT: We have been using these paint sticks now for a few weeks and the grandkids LOVE them!! They are asking for more so in case they run out they will be ready. I love that for almost all of the colors there are 2 of each so that when the 5 year old takes one out, the 2 year old wants the same color. They glide on the big sheets of white paper that I have and both kids spend about 20 minutes at a time and ask to get this out every time they are here. With a baby wipe, they wash right off of the table and high chair when needed. We will be adding this to the Christmas lists for when the relatives ask what they can get them. LOVE these!!

Vibrant, Smooth and FUN! - Need the Right Paper
These are fantastic. Obviously for the price you get a large variety of colors to experiment with. Plus no squabbling over needing the same color. I was concerned that these wouldn't last very long because the paint sticks are short but after using it, I realized that there's plenty of product in each stick and it doesn't deplete very quickly. The shorter sticks are actually nice for little hands. A few of the caps were hard for my 4-year-old to open but once I got them unstuck they were easy for him to handle and open by himself. The paint is very creamy and glides smoothly over the paper. The colors are vibrant and beautiful. They don't smudge or blend quite as well as I would've liked, even with water. But on the flip side, they dry pretty quickly and minimize mess. I think the versatility of this product is the best part. We experimented with using water and brushes, mixing colors together, using our fingers to smudge freshly drawn paint, scratching out fresh paint, and painting over dried areas. Can't do a lot of that with crayon, colored pencils, markers, or wet paint. This is fun for both kids and adults because of that versability. I do think you need the right paper to get the most out of this product. We used thick sketch paper, which resulted in very bright colors but pilling when water was applied with a brush. Then we used a waxier paper which handled water well but resulted in less vibrant colors. Another review mentioned cardstock so we'll give that a try.

Beautiful Assortment of Colors
These paints arrived quickly but were loose in the box due to their original packaging breaking. This didn't bother me because they were not a gift, and they were the only thing in the Amazon box they came in. I like these as an easier option for smaller children. They are good for little hands to use and the color assortment is perfect for creative children. I love the range of normal, neon, and even metallic colors. We painted a lot of canvases and cardboard, and these have worked well. I like the versatility of these and how the pigments work. I even like how they vary based on the medium you are using. I recommend these paints.

Vibrant Colors
I was very excited to try out these paint sticks. The paint colors are vibrant. I wish the tip of the paint stick was better, but I made it work. It was easy to navigate after I got the rhythm.

Somewhat pigmented just a little hard to use
This order came with A LOT of paint stick’s. Ranging from classic, metallic and neon color’s. I usually buy this brand while at Micheal’s. So seeing it here on Amazon was nice. I tested out the paint stick’s on paper. They are not the hardest to use though if they had a thinner/slimmer tip that would make them so much easier to use. All in all, this is one of the product’s from Tulip that I can say I like.

Beautiful and easy to use.
My 8 year old is using these for art projects. He is not a fan of coloring, but he does love to use these paints because they put color down so quickly and evenly. They have no smell and dry very fast. No messy hands! The package contains so many colors! Great purchase!

WELL MADE
These paint sticks are extremely easy for a young child or someone handicapped to be able to paint a picture. They feel like glue sticks. The lids are tight so your child might need help. Of course, this just guarantees that the paint won't dry out quickly. The paint sticks are chunky like glue sticks so they would be easy to grip. I am very pleased with these tempera paint sticks. I will probably buy more when they run out.
