Worked for me
We have a few battery trains, and my son loves trains... specifically the flying Scotsman. I bought it even if it would be a paperweight (from some of the other reviews) so he could still roll it around. Luckily for me, I've had it for about 2 months and its still one of the fastest trains that we have and works just fine. One of the few trains that go seem to effortlessly go over the hills, a few of his other battery trains have issues and need help. Probably only tradeoff would be the battery life wasn't as great as some of his other fast trains.

DISAPPOINTED!!!!!
I bought this for my grandson’s birthday who absolutely loves trains. His party isn’t until February 12th. Thankfully I let him open it early. First of all it was suppose to come with two wooden track pieces which was not in package. I paid around $25 dollars for it. My grandson was SOOOO EXCITED UNTIL IT DID NOT WORK! The train and wheels worked but as soon as you let go of on button wheels stop. MY GRANDSONS LOVE TRAINS!!! They have at least 100 trains. Almost all of the accessories as well as three tables and dining room table. Endless. ALL TYPES. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THAT I HAVE BEEN DISAPPOINTED WITH WOODEN TRAINS. I WOULD TRY TO FIX IT IF I KNEW HOW. I’m just hoping I will be able to return. Not sure of date yet.

Really cool out of the box, but broke within 5 minutes of use. I was hoping the other reviewers got it wrong- but unfortunately this is not a quality engine. Do not buy unless you want your child to be crying within minutes of turning it on.

False Advertising
Ordered this item and it broke the first day. Sent it back to get another one a few days later. That one didn’t last long either. Both also did not look new. They both appeared used when it was described as new

Stopped working almost immediately
Product worked for about 5 minutes and then the wheels stopped turning. This is the second flying scotsman we’ve ordered that stopped working almost immediately. If I could give 0 stars I would. Do not buy this product.

Big Failure
This product worked for about one minute then the wheels stopped moving. We had one disappointed child. what a rip off! $25 really?

My 2-year old's favourite thing
My two year old loves this! Works with all his big jigs rails and ramps and pulls the other magnetic trains around the track wonderfully. The only problem is that the battery doesn't last that long but I guess this is expected if the little ones play with it non-stop!

Treno resistente, robusto e divertente
Ho acquistato questo articolo perchè ho delle rotaie di legno Ikea e il treno a batteria è il massimo. Ho letto delle recensioni su questo modello e confermo che le batterie durano parecchio. Riesce a trainare 4 vagoni del kit ikea. Potrebbe trainarne di più ma il magnete poi si stacca. La dimensione non consente di passare sotto il ponte degli acessori ikea ma opportunamente spessorato si riesce lo stesso. Il senso di marcia è solo in avanti e il pulsante di azionamento è comodo.

A great train. My little boy loves it. Powerful enough to climb even fairly steep slopes. Nearly a year later it's still going strong. Only lost a star as it's fairly noisy esp when your child has had it on all day

La migliore locomotiva
Ho comprato questa locomotiva e quella della Brio grande locomotiva elettrica. Entrambe funzionano con 2 batterie AAA ma questa va molto più veloce e consuma meno. A confronto sembra che quella della Brio sia ferma. Inoltre la vite che regge le pile è molto più accessibile di quella della Brio.

Wheel broken within a few days
On first appearances it seemed a lovely little train, went up steep slopes with ease and made good (if a bit noisy) sound effects but within a few days one of the wheels came off. Attempted to fix but shortly came off again. Very poor quality
