Realistic looking, easy to assemble
As others have said you'll want some glue to hold it all together but assembly is very easy. My five year old son (with considerable LEGO experience) put it together in about five minutes with a little help from me (dad). We got this to put around the tree at Christmas with our O Gauge Lionel Polar Express train set my dad got my son for his first Christmas. It will look great for this. We plan to add some snow and I'm working on adding some stained glass and a light inside to finish it off. Like most plastic models it provides a great starting point that you can then customize in such a manner. Great kit.

lovely but get your glue ready. It's a bit fiddly to put together
We got this for our "under the tree" display this Christmas. It looks great with the "O scale" HOGWARTS EXPRESS. I was impressed at the "snap fit" - the four sides of the main building and the entry/steeple out front. BUT the fit is NOT tight enough to hold it all together well. ADVICE: "Annie Get Yer Glue!" Note: Super Glue didn't seem to work/dry on this type plastic, so we used Elmer's Carpenter's Wood Glue. We tuned the structure upside down and ran a bead - guided by a toothpick - on all the INSIDE CORNERS of the building - NOT gluing the two roof pieces yet. (There's no "floor" piece to help square the building, so you'll have to square it up by eye!) After gluing, we flipped it upright, put it on a paper towel (some glue will run down) and LOOSELY fit the roof pieces on the top of the structure - using these to SQUARE THE CORNERS of the building while the glue dried. The next morning it was solid as a... well, church. We did NOT glue the roof pieces or steeple on. It will be stored inside the church during the year. It will sit stably on top without gluing. We'll be looking for a LIGHT KIT to put inside, and will need some miniature "stained glass window" film for the windows - for next year. Then, the roof pieces will need to be glued on and the joints "blacked out" or light will lead all around. This is a GREAT building for your permanent layout (though you'll want to paint it for increased realism) or left "as-is" for your annual under the tree display at Christmas. This Bachmann building is so good, we've ordered the school house and train station too. - JWL - Dec 2012 - from wintry Western NC

Very nice for the Money!
Very happy with my results! Copper roof and details, bronze bell, Calpalmy Foam Clay snow, window film (painted) stained glass windows, Woodland Scenics internal lighting and power, Evermodel exterior lighting, Santa Spray Snow finishing. Who knows how many hours and $125 in hardware and supplies for a $30 kit! Great fun!

beatilful product

Nice detail, quality lacking
Detailing is nice but the roof panels are slightly warped. Also falls apart easily if touched. A little glue would fix both issues, but then I'd be left having to store this built as opposed to flat-packed.

Country Church
This is a nice church for a "country" setting. It doesn't have lights, but then most churches in the country are dark most of the time anyway. A little landscaping makes this a really nice addition to most layouts. Oh, almost forgot.. use glue to hold it together. You won't regret it.

a little common sense
we are buying alot of plasticvilles models for our train layout we are trying to build,I know it says you don't have to use glue but common sense tells you if you want it to last you have to use glue. we added colored glass to the windows and put a lite in side and it is perfect'
