Great set, if you're looking for a bunch of tools I would definitely recommend getting the Sculpey sets!

I only use one of the tools...
The only tool I really like, and use, from this kit is the needle piece. The knife doesn't cut as precise as expected, and the other tool has a "seem" seen in it that doesn't produce smoothness.

A starter set that does indeed start you off... Starts you off searching Amazon for something better.
As someone new to clay sculpting I of course wanted to start simple and boy are these simple! I think I will detail each tool and my experience with them as that seems like quite a logical way to proceed. So first up (working with the product picture, so working left to right...) The Blade Tool (1/2) On one end is the large plastic blade edge. The blade will work on Super Sculpey (Beige)...just. Cutting into a block of the clay resulted in the blade bending. It took multiple attempts to cut but it did eventually happen. This will be the case no matter what kind of clay you purchase. I highly recommending using something else when dealing with the firm sculpey or a clay a bit more dense. Bit flimsy but will work for smaller pieces. The Blade Tool (2/2) The other end of this tool has a surprisingly useful end that I call 'the tongue'. As it sort of resembles that for me. I have found this very useful however, this is where the build quality of the tools come under scrutiny. The join from the plastic mould seems to have been imprinted on the tool. Which means it isn't a smooth 'tongue' surface. This will be shown in your clay. I still used it a lot! The Pointy End & Ball Tool (1/2) The Pointy end, a sort of blunt plastic tip has limited uses. This is largely thanks to its built quality and the Needle Tool. That said, I have used it. It can carve out the clay as you'd like but the side of it has the same mould issue as the Tongue mentioned above. Which again means it isn't smooth on the side. I do actually use the middle of this tool (the large grip part) as a sort of mini roller just to get clay flat. For this purpose it works well. Even if not intended! But again, the moulding issue is present here. Don't expect to roll out clay smoothly, it will leave lines. The Pointy End & Ball Tool (2/2) The ball in does what it sets out to do. Sort of. You can very easily create a ball effect on the clay, for stuff like eyes in a head etc. But it is large and the moulding issue is especially bad here, the ball ISNT smooth! So rather than carving out a ball with a simple press of this tool, you get little marks, almost like eyelashes if you stick with my example of the eye. Only they don't look like good eyelashes. I rarely use this because of the size and the cheap build. The Needle (1/2) Perhaps the tool most valuable to me is The Needle. A thin metal end with a pointed tip with a protector. Absolutely fantastic for fine detail. I use this often! The Needle (2/2) Oh dear. The weakest of the lot for me. Basically a flat circle so you can make small circles in your clay. But of only one side that makes it limiting and to top it off it has the factory mould issue like the others! Considering you want a perfect circle, you do not want additional plastic indenting in your clay. Absolutely awful tool. Never use. Summary I got this set because I trusted the name Sculpey. The 'ergonomic feel' of each tool is comfortable and light to hold but the set is left with the problem of being assembled poorly. Thanks to how the plastic mould doesn't deliver the smooth edges you'd like. Almost as soon as I got using this set I knew what tools I needed instead. So if you get this, be prepared to fork out more money on more useful tools.

tools are a bit meh
any tool can be useful in sculpting, pins nails old toothbrushes etc etc... these are a bit lack luster. the fact two of them have the same shaped handle is just boring.
