Crafty play
We’ve bought a few of these kits for the kids, we were looking for something that was crafty but also held their attention after the crafting part was done. This did not disappoint. It’s fun for the whole family and great to see all the boxes get a second life. ????????

A few degrees south of mediocre
A good idea in theory. In practice: takes a long time to setup (adult or teenager required), occupies much more space than the effect is worth, and the helicopter vehicle lacks the power to climb steeper sections of the track. Younger kids will still enjoy it for a while once it's setup, but definitely a "I see where they were going with this, but nope" feel on the whole.

Fun, but not super sturdy
I gave this to my 8-year-old for his birthday, and he had a lot of fun with it, but I don't expect him to choose this toy to play with regularly. Set-up took a lot of parental help (you have to apply many tiny sticky pads to the bottom of the stands), but once we got it set up, he enjoyed sitting there watching the vehicle go round and round. The prop pieces are flimsy and do not stay on their stands. He attached them to the track so they wouldn't fall over. The main downside to this toy is that the track does not stay together well. After one or two times of the truck going around the track, the track comes apart, and he has to hurry and repair it before the truck comes around again. I hoped this would spark some creativity as he would color it and build additional track. So far, he hasn't been interested in coloring the track or building more, but I'm hoping he will add to it in the future. The problem is that it doesn't come with many extra stand and connector pieces, so even if you build more track, you don't have a way to attach many more tracks. He likes the two stunt features, and the helicopter is also fun to watch because it looks like it is going on a bumpy and wild ride and moves quickly along the track. It is a fun toy, but more robust connectors and more connectors and stands would make it better.

Requires a lot of setup
I’ve always liked VTech products. It’s gotten to the point where I can blindly buy anything with the VTech logo on it and chances are I’ll be happy with it. However, this product seems to be the exception that proves the rule. To be blunt, it requires a lot of setup. It’s surprisingly overwhelming considering most VTech toys are ready to be played with outside the box and are pretty self explanatory. This requires bending and rolling up the cardboard pieces and snapping them into half a dozen different “anchors”. It doesn’t sound that bad now that I’m writing it out, but it was a little surprising to see lots of pieces and instructions when opening the box. My son was a little impatient while I set it up, but he did love decorating and coloring the tracks. Once it was setup it was pretty fun to play with. I like the flexibility of the track, but to be honest this doesn’t really hold my kid’s attention like other VTech toys and it’s been gathering dust for a bit. Overall, it’s a neat toy but not their best. Still a big fan of VTech, but this product was a little bit of a misfire.

Requires time to set up right, absolutely worth it
This is a pretty fantastic toy on many levels. Let's get the pain points out of the way first. This will take time to properly set up the first time. Rolling the cardboard pieces as per the instructions is absolutely crucial to being able to create a good track line. Make sure you have plenty of space for this track as it's bigger than you might think and will need room to be moved/adjusted as you build. Once you have the cardboard pieces conditioned and get the first suggested configuration set up, it's all fun for the kids. The included removable suction cups for the floor pieces are great for hardwood/tile/vinyl/linoleum floors. This track works surprisingly well on carpet, especially plush but not dense carpeting as the case of the cardboard can kind of sink into the fibers a bit. It is very easy to change the configurations, even for younger kids. This is a great toy for kids who like putting things together their own ways, kids interested in engineering challenges, etc. Perhaps the best feature of this you is the fact that it comes with a template for cutting your own custom track pieces out of any cardboard. Depending on your floor, available space, and what you might have on hand to help stabilize the track, you can create some really lengthy tracks. If you run out of joiner pieces and don't mind certain pieces of cardboard being stuck together, you can use duct tape to create a connection. And since it's just cardboard, a mistake isn't really a setback. Finally, a great use for all those Amazon boxes!

Can’t decide if it’s genius or nefarious…
I honestly can’t decide if this was absolutely genius on Vtechs part, or simply just cheap. You can definitely get a product down in price when you build it with these materials, but there is also not really longevity. On the other hand longevity for niche kids toys that they will only be interested in for a short period of time isn’t always a bad thing. That being said at this time my son has been really enjoying this! I do wish that it came with another car or two, one is just kind of boring. Overall though 4 stars.

Kind of like a space-saving version of a car track
We have a popular set of cars and car tracks that are a lot of fun, but the tracks take up a lot of space to store, especially because we kept adding more and more tracks over the years. I love that this flight track set comes with a simply designed track to set up, but that we can build more track with cardboard around the house. I was disappointed that it only came with one helicopter though. Considering most of this toy is ... cardboard, it seemed like they could have included ore vehicles in the set. Overall, a fun way to engage, especially in smaller spaces.
