Strong colors, questionable engineering
Very strong pigments. I don't like the grey lid--should be white inside to serve as another mixing tray. The white mixing tray that came with the paint set has too many small mixing areas; dividing the tray into 2 mixing areas would be more practical-- especially for painting on location. Otherwise, I love the intensity of the pigments in this set.

Love the Paint - Hate the container
I wish they had designed the box to have a flat lid with sections for mixing and a couple of little wells. The "modern" shape - the curved shape looked fun, but it is not functional. If they designed a normal rectangular shaped container with a flat lid that the paint cups would fit - I would buy it in a heart beat.

Vibrant Colors
A professional watercolor artist wrote an article on his preference for Pelikan brand watercolors made in Germany. I use many well known brands of watercolor and wanted to see for myself how Pelikan fared. I have the opaque and just purchased the transparent set. I'm very pleased. The picture included is after 24 hours. The vibrancy of the colors are so alive. FYI, the transparent paints can be glazed between drying and can also be mixed on watercolor paper without the typical muddiness that occurs with opaque paints.
