In love
I'm new to gouache (usually use acrylic) and honestly I was not expecting to love this as much as I do for the price even after watching the reviews. It's so pigmented and more opaque than I expected. A little streaky on the first layer but it's easily fixable with a second layer. (I haven't used it on watercolor paper yet, but I will update this review it if there's any difference). I am glad I only got the 24 case because it's already huge and bulky so make sure you have the workspace for it especially if you get more colors. I love that you can buy individual refills too. Not enough companies do that. I can tell it's going to be a bit of work to maintain the colors and it won't be great for travel (the lid doesn't go on air tight to keep paints from going moldy) but for me during covid that's fine. But tube gouache might be better for you if you travel. My watercolor paintbrushes fit in the container. While I probably will use a glass pallet, I think it's super good that it comes with one and it's decent quality. And I've seen that you should leave the little lids half way on the container to keep from messing up your paint but personally I found it too messy so I just removed them. A little goes a long way. As a person very picky about pigmentation and paint I'm super happy with these. Awesome matte finish. Easily reactivated with water. Good for pros and beginners. The paint brushes it comes with are good beginner brushes but a pro might want to get other ones. Really its hard to impress me with paint but I love love this super cute pink himi gouache. And it's so affordable.

A Gouache Dream Come True!
I recently stumbled upon this incredible gouache paint set on Amazon, and it has completely revolutionized my artistic journey. Let me just say, this set is an absolute masterpiece! The colors in this gouache palette are vibrant, rich, and incredibly pigmented. Each hue pops off the page, allowing me to bring my imagination to life with ease. The creamy consistency of the paints spreads smoothly, creating a seamless application and delivering stunning results. What truly impressed me about this set is its versatility. Whether I'm working on fine details or creating bold, expressive strokes, these gouache paints handle it all flawlessly. The colors blend effortlessly, allowing me to achieve the perfect shades and gradients every time. The packaging and presentation of this set are also exceptional. The compact design makes it easy to store and carry, making it a convenient choice for artists on the go. The mixing palette included is a thoughtful addition, providing a dedicated space for custom color creations. Furthermore, the quality of these paints is outstanding. They are highly opaque, which means I can confidently layer them without worrying about the underlying colors showing through. The finish is smooth and matte, lending a professional touch to my artwork. I must also commend the seller for their outstanding customer service. They promptly addressed any queries I had, ensuring that I had a positive experience throughout. It's refreshing to encounter sellers who genuinely care about their customers. In conclusion, if you're an artist seeking a top-quality gouache paint set that delivers exceptional pigmentation, versatility, and convenience, look no further. This set has exceeded all my expectations and has quickly become my go-to choice for creating captivating works of art. Trust me, you won't be disappointed with this purchase!

Loved it but do your research!!!
I've had these paints for a while now and I've just now thrown them away (my fault, keep reading). Turns out gouache can mould if you don't know how to store properly. I thought I could big brain the whole system and avoid the cups drying out by wrapping with plastic wrap. BIG MISTAKE. HUGE. The "pale purple" and the "purple" (let's be real, it's baby pink) were caked in mould the next time I opened the case. I read online that once one cup starts to mould the whole set becomes infected with the spores like something outta Last of Us. Well I had two mould, and just like that I lost the whole set. The following tips are things I've learned by reading multiple Reddit posts and watching numerous YouTube vids and making many, many, mistakes: 1. Let your palette completely dry before replacing the lid for storage. This is the most important tip if you are not trying to recreate life Lisa Simpson style. 2. Before you paint, spray your palette with a solution of distilled water and a few drops of isopropyl alcohol to bring the paints back to a workable state. The alcohol helps prevent the mould. 3. Gouache feels like it should paint like acrylic but its just not the same. After some pretty frustrating initial attempts to figure out consistency it's a very enjoyable medium so I recommended experimenting with some brush strokes or even swatching your colours to get a feel for it. 4. Make sure every layer is dry before moving on to the next, gouache will lift and reactivate with moisture. To finish a piece, consider purchasing a fixative to set the paint. I painted a goodbye card for a colleague and while someone was signing it they placed it down on a table that had a single drop of water on it and displaced some of the dark paint onto a lighter area. I was much sadge. 5. Research, research, research!!! Study up on storage tips, painting techniques, and tools! There's a wealth of knowledge on the subject on YouTube but try to aim for more established artists since anyone can slap together a "tutorial" these days. I still consider myself a gouache beginner as I've come from an acrylic background. I've bought a new set of Himi Gouache paints that I should get next week so I'm looking forward to getting back into it. These are very high maintenance paints though so if you don't paint very often or aren't big on upkeep maybe consider gouache in a tube format. All in all it's a beautiful medium and this set has beautiful creamy colours that I very much enjoyed until I ruined it! C'est La vie!
