Really good choice for 1 year old with VERY picky parents. Did my research.
My niece LOVES it! I had gotten it for her 1st birthday, so it works well for the earlier end of the age range. It doesn't have a huge number of parts to get lost but just enough so it's not a boring toy. She carries the little skillet around with her wherever she toddles off to! The parents don't usually like toys with lots of flashing lights and noises. This one has some, but not everything is electronic. There are plenty of good, old fashioned moving parts. One important thing this has is a volume control (and can be turned off all together). That was a "must" for the parents! I also did a fair amount of research on Little Tykes and their manufacturing process and quality control. The parents are very concerned about that. I have to say that I was impressed by the Little Tykes company. Even though this kitchen is made in China (most of their product line is made in the USA), they seem to be very stringent on quality control and testing. My brother and SIL are very comfortable with this toy, and that is saying something! (They're VERY particular!) The price point is really good on this one too. I was prepared to spend more for something like this. Instead, I bought her some books too! Win-win!

We got this as a gift for our twin grandsons for their third birthday. They love it! It has so many features with the oven and temperature dial, clock to learn time and skillet with bacon and eggs that can be cooked on the stove. The stove turns red like it is cooking and makes a noise. It also has a baking sheet with different shapes for cookies. They play with it everyday. I would highly recommend it. Great value.
