HGUC OPERATION V: RX-78-2, RX-77-2, RX-75-4 GUNDAM, GUNCANNON, GUNTANK Let's start with the Guntank. As the first MS canonically developed by the EFSF, the Guntank just happens to be the lamest piece of the set. It's nice - don't get me wrong - but it doesn't have any weapons or accessories. Most of the problems come from the design. That tank bottom is really difficult to work with. Next up: Guncannon. This is easily the kit that impressed me the most. For HGUC #1 (yes, the first kit of this ENTIRE LINE), this guy is great. Arriving with a beam rifle and that beautiful green visor, the Guncannon has knees that go 180 degrees! That is pretty damn incredible for 1999! Anyway, the sister unit of the Guntank also comes with a pair of hands for that memorial pose of Kai crouch-firing the 180 mm cannons or for push-ups. Finally, the Guncannon comes with a pair of white spray missile launchers to replace the 180 mm cannons. I personally find these ugly and unnecessary. Finally, the biggest piece of the bunch: GUNDAM. As the last prototype the EFSF fed into Operation V, this robot comes with a whole ton of crap. First of all: Beam Rifle and the classic shield. Both of these are done nicely, though the beam rifle needs some yellow for the scope, in the same way the Guncannon needs it. The shield works fine though, and can either be held, pegged into the arm, or pegged into the back. The beam sabers look great, since the clear pink plastic used for the sabers are pretty cute. However, the hilts of the sabers have no way of actually connecting to the backpack, hanging in there only due to friction. That's kinda lame. The Gundam has joints that only go 90 degrees max, which is disappointing for such a flexible MS. The Gundam also comes with a Hyper Bazooka, though its a piece of s***. Like most bazooka-type weapons, the MS doesn't hold it well and you can kiss those two handed poses goodbye, despite the Gundam having swiveling shoulders for easier posing 3 handed with the beam rifle. The only missing item is the Gundam/Hyper Hammer, so this isn't quite the full package. Finally, a Core Fighter is included, but don't expect it to change into a Core Block and dock into the Gundam A and B parts. Overall, this set is great. Though it costs the same as buying each HGUC kit individually, the set's 3 MS's are all in different colors form the individual releases, being more accurate to the old Anime. Also, a set of Marking seals are included to further realize and detail your MS. However, I kept them off for the sake of animation accuracy and stuck them on the Core Fighter, which required too much paint for me to care. In the end, this set is quite worth it. Check it out!
