Fantastic design and quality
Wow. Remo has set the quality standard for general/consumer percussion instruments in the U.S., and clearly they've now also set the standard for kid-safe instruments. This is not a toy; it's a beautifully-made, surprisingly resonant djembe. The only compromise is that it's not tuneable, which won't matter for almost any kid-application (if a kid is playing with other musicians who care about ensemble tuning, the kid's probably ready to graduate to a bigger drum anyway. :)) Very highly recommended.

Great Sound and Look
The djembe is really wonderful. We purchased this for our 10 month old and removed the strap. She loved her "play" drums so we thought we should introduce her to the real thing. We keep it strategically placed so that each time she walks by she gives it a play. She will surely enjoy this drum for many years to come! Very high quality in all aspects.

Great drum for little hands
I purchased this drum for my 2 year old granddaughter. It's a little heavy for her to carry, but she loves making sounds with it. The quality is good, and the bright colors make it very attractive.

Excellent for any age
I purchased this djembe for my 3 year old nephew for his birthday. He comes from a long line of professional percussionists. My brother tells me that the little guy loves his new drum and that it sounds great. Durable, kid friendly, easy to care for, and great sound. What more could you ask for?

great sounding drum
This seems to be a sturdy, well constructed drum with nice adjustable arm strap for carrying. The sound is rich, deep, and beautiful compared to the slightly flatter sounding kids bongos by Remo. Our son loves it!

Check the tuning on arrival
This is a great drum overall, but there are a couple things to watch out for. This instrument should not be shipped without packaging (if it arrives only in the box with no bubble wrap or other packaging) as the instrument is then most likely already damaged. What I mean by damaged is the head goes out of tune and because this drum can't be tuned, it's forever going to NOT sound the way it was intended to sound. It should have a very sharp attack when playing on the edge of the drum and if it isn't super responsive in that area then most likely something happened during transit. Likewise, DON'T drop the drum too many times or this will also happen. This instrument used to be priced closer to $50-$60 which I believe is still the correct price range. For over $100 you're better off getting a Meinl cajon or bongos which sound better and last way longer.

nice djembe
the Mercantile Bank in Quincy, IL gave me some funds to get some drums for my elementary general music class. these djembe shave a surprisingly good sound and are staying in good shape with the many hands that pay them. good value for the price.

Tolles Instrument
Toller Klang für diese kleine, leichte Trommel. Hat mich sehr unterstützt, als ich wegen meines Handgelenkbruchs nur mit einer Hand meine Lieder und Charts begleiten konnte. Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen zur Liedbegleitung.
