Really fun—must add to your collection!
The media could not be loaded. Definitely, this is one of the best elements there is. It gets the marbles down by making them go round and round! It is very flexible, allowing you to build spirals of any height, as long as you have enough middle pieces. These pieces count for half a height tile each, so it really is useful and fun in many situations. Even though it brings the marble down, I'd say that this is one of the best Gravitrax elements. Definitely, a 10/10.

One of the more useful small expansions
Of the small-box GraviTrax expansions selling for ~$12, I found this among the most useful. It's very easy to make use of--some others take a lot of setup, or are simply a bit unreliable in their operation--and the spirals turn out to be quite useful in builds. It can catch marbles falling straight down, or have them roll on from a track. Also, high marks for the modular design. Each spiral consists of a bottom and top piece, and then can be build up of as many, or as few, middle segments as you like so that height is fully adjustable. My daughter loves to make a huge spiral tower out of all the segments from several sets (though this is rather wobbly unless buttressed with something).

Great toy!
My grandkids (8 and 11) love this! Building a track is like building with Legos in the sense that you can build step by step one of the designs included, but it is also great for designing your own track! Many hours of fun!

Awesome addition
Excellent addition to any GraviTrax collection and very versatile since you can raise or lower the spiral by adding or removing a quarter turn piece at a time will also adjusting the angle of entry and exit. The marble can pick up a lot of speed going down a spiral as well allowing for some interesting designs that take advantage of the momentum gain.

Two spirals included
I hadn't appreciated that you actually get two of the spirals pictured on the box. The pieces are interchangeable so you can make two the same height, or two of different heights. It's a lovely additional to our growing Gravitrax collection.
