the Twin Towers oddly enough were always my favorite NYC icon from the first time I saw Kevin ...
Ive always been interested in the World Trade Center, from way back before 9-11, the Twin Towers oddly enough were always my favorite NYC icon from the first time I saw Kevin McCallister on top of the observation deck in Home Alone 2! Though the new One World Trade Center and the rest of the new WTC complex has seen some criticism, I think the new buildings will become as beloved as the former Twin Towers. I happened to see this interesting 3D puzzle when wandering around on Amazon and I figured Id buy it and build it and display it as a bit of a tribute to the WTC, both the spirit of the old complex and the rebirth of the new complex. It was only about 11 dollars, it had good reviews, so I figured Id order one up! The shipping was free and the puzzle came in less then a week. I've never built anything quite like this before. It is built of a foam type material that is quite impressive in strength and flexibility. The instructions were quite forward though its still possible to make a few errors in building it along the way, you begin to notice that the pieces don't quite fit right and then you re-examine the instruction and do a little on the spot engineering and make some corrections and you will see that everything fits together very well once its assembled in the correct way. It took me about 45 mins to assemble the tower and there were no special tools, or glue required. A small screwdriver or X-acto knife is useful for punching out the tab holes used throughout the various pieces for assembly. When finished the tower is pretty impressive, it stands 2 feet tall and it has has that kind of commanding presence when looking at it that the real World Trade Center, both old and new! The building even has the reflection of the surrounding buildings printed onto the windows of the building! I enjoyed building the tower and it was just challenging enough to make it interesting and to make you think a bit and the end result is great! 5 stars!

64 pieces. NOT a group project
I bought this thinking my kids would work on it together, not really realizing... this is a one-person operation. The price is right -- tenbucks for a great toy bridge, which is decorative but not useful. It is made out of some paper-faced foam material, which seems to be this generation's balsa wood. Makes good models. Breaks apart easily. Anyway, my 2nd grader is my Puzzle Man, and he sort of took charge of the bridge when the whole "group project" concept went out the window. The pieces just sort of push out of the sheets -- it doesn't take much pressure. He used my staple-puller tool to snap out the notches and slots. Swingline Premium Staple Remover, Silver (S7037141P) . Then, going step by step and aligning the pieces as shown in the schematic, the bridge is sort of "pressed" together. Go slow. To keep the base pieces separated while wrapping the brick detail, he used the same staple puller tool, inserted sideways. That left him a hand free to manipulate the tricky parts. Pretty cool work. Don't throw away the American flag pieces -- they go on top.

Looks great! Easy but fun!
I usually stick to the Cubicfun brand puzzles, but this one ended up being just as good. Same assembly style, cardboard cutouts that are slotted into each other. The long, thin parts (like a tower antenna) can be flimsy, but I've yet to break one in 7+ puzzles. I had to glue the base on, but I've had to do that with most of these regardless of the brand. It's designed pretty cleverly so nearly every piece "locks" another into place. Took a couple of hours to put together - taking my time. This one wasn't especially challenging but still fun and looks great! If you put it out for display, you'll want to find a way to hide the ends as the abrupt cut-off looks odd. I have other 3d buildings in front, on the sides, so it looks like it continues behind them. But anything will work.

Ok product
Great mental workout for kids, but clips don’t hold in place and keep coming off.

The streak continues
Puzzle #4 in my collection. This puzzle had twice as many pieces as all the others I've built so far. As such, it took me three evenings to put it together after work. If I had had a solid block of time in which to assemble this, I estimate at least two hours, possibly three. I had no trouble putting this together, but be forewarned the three sets of steps are made up of very small pieces and do not snap together easily. The first set took me a good ten minutes trying to figure out the best way to assemble it. Since the model is so long, and without a flat bottom piece for the whole thing, it is not near as sturdy as the others I've reviewed, but there is really nothing to go around that: the model is simply too long. The dome is a rather tight fit, and there are quite a few small pieces that make it up, but it wasn't too much trouble. All in all I highly recommend this. Just be sure to set aside a good block of time to finish it.

Great little model
I got this as a gift, and was pretty surprised with how much I enjoyed it. I've never done any modeling or anything, but it a good little four hour project. It is more of a model than a puzzle, but is still somewhat challenging without being frustrating. I saw people complaining that it wasn't a puzzle, but the instructions are little more than "assemble pieces", and there's no specifies order or procedure. If you want a puzzle, don't use the instructions. The foam board is plenty stiff, all the pieces popped out no problem, and the print quality is great. Good detail and everything was lined up right. The finished model is pretty solid. My only complaint is the tabs stick out pretty far, and the finished product benefited quite a bit after I shaved them flush with a hobby knife. The foam core is white and is concealed against the white model.

Instructions were clear and pieces well numbered
A tip - punch out the pieces one at a time while following the instructions, not in advance so that you can reference the part numbers. My son is six years old and did most of it on his own with some help. A good challenge, not too easy or too difficult.
