Needed to darken the white but I have bad eyes my older sister didn't need to alter hers (smh)
I really enjoy this Bamboo Sudoku Board. Not only can I use the book provided to do puzzles, but I can use ANY Sudoku book with this board. The pieces slide in and out easily. My only issue with the game is that the white on one side is too light; I had to use a pen and change it to green. For me, any color was better than the white. I do have poor eyesight and needed to do this for my personal use. My sister, who is older than I said she didn't need to make changes to hers and made fun of me. Love her loads. The storage of the pieces is convenient. I keep the label wrapped around it to help it stay secure. Scratch that; I just turned the top a quarter turn, and the top now provides a really snug fit. The manufacturer, Project Genius, probably didn't mean for it to be that tight, or maybe they did, I don't know, but it works to my advantage. At this point, I no longer need to keep the marketing label around the board. All the best & God bless. This one was received through Vine, but I did purchase one for my sister, who is also a huge Sudoku enthusiast. The photos are on my phone, I'll update with them in the near future.

Portable and shabbos-friendly!
Product arrived as described. I appreciate that it is portable and lightweight. My only hesitations about the product are how faint the white letters appear on the bamboo pegs; that the lid does not stay shut on its own; that there are no extra pegs included; and that it is possible to get splinters if you are not careful to handle the pieces with caution. Shabbos friendly and a great way to pass the time!

Almost a good product
Technically, this is Sudoku. It's usable, but not very enjoyable. It comes with 81 numbered pegs. You have to find and insert the starting numbers, copying a puzzle from the instructions or another source of Sudoku puzzles. This step takes a while. Then you can start solving the puzzle and inserting more pegs until it's fully solved. There are two big problems. First, it's difficult to find the pegs you need because they tend to lay on their sides, hiding the numbers. Take a look at the photo of the pegs on their sides in the box, and see how many numbers you can identify. Second, there's no place to write notes about which numbers might go in each square. That's a big deal when solving the harder puzzles. Sudoku is faster, easier, and more enjoyable when solved on paper instead of using this wooden version.

Sudoku, Sustainability, and Sanity - All in One Box!
Now that I’m retired, I’ve got three things in abundance: time, tea, and terrible daytime television. So I decided to swap the remote for something that wouldn’t rot my brain. That’s when I found this little beauty — the Project Genius Ecologicals Bamboo Sudoku. First off, let’s talk about the look. This thing is classy with a capital C. The bamboo board is smooth, sturdy, and stylish enough that my wife actually lets me leave it out on the coffee table. That’s a miracle in itself. And get this — it’s eco-friendly. No flashy plastics or noisy gizmos. Just good old-fashioned brainwork on beautiful bamboo. Makes me feel like a wise old monk solving puzzles in a Zen garden instead of a guy in socks and sandals yelling at squirrels. The numbered pegs are perfect. Easy to place, easy to remove when I realize I’ve made a mistake (which, let’s be honest, happens more often than I’d like to admit). No need for erasers or reading glasses — just peg and play, partner. It comes with a little booklet with 30 puzzles, ranging from “warm-up your wisdom” to “where did my morning go?” I do one every day with my coffee and pretend it’s keeping my brain sharp enough to win Jeopardy someday. In short, this puzzle set is brain-boosting, bamboo-built brilliance. It’s perfect for retirees like me who still like a challenge — just without the Wi-Fi, batteries, or blaring beeps. Plus, it’s good for the planet, so I can feel a little less guilty about all those paper napkins I hoarded in the '80s.
