Bought these to help my 3-4’s develop a stronger tripod grasp. They tend to fist the fat cylinder shaped ones. Also, the larger ones tend to send out too much ink to quickly. These have to be primed first time some of the older children were able to work the color down themselves. They leave less color so the children have to work a little harder to use them. The class seemed to enjoy using them and asked for them again.

Great for Toddlers
My almost 2 year old uses these with ease! Highly recommend for little ones.

Good buy!
My 2 year old is obsessed. I just wish they had a flat bottom so you could set them up. You have to keep them in the white plastic container so they don’t roll all over. But either way I’d buy again. Great product

Great for Bingo Night, Not for Young Budding Artist
I purchased the Ready 2 Learn Doodle Dabbers Dot Markers after a careful review of the marketing photos and glowing reviews. One image in particular caught my eye—a young girl, joyfully “coloring” a butterfly design with the dabbers as though they were markers. I thought, Ah, a clever hybrid—both marker and dabber! Alas, dear reader, I was misled. These are dabbers in the purest sense—think bingo night at the community center, not art class at the library. My 20-month-old, full of hope and artistic ambition, naturally tried to glide the “markers” across the page. This innocent experiment quickly dislodged the tiny felt-like material covering the ink mechanism, after which the dabber not only failed to function as a marker but also tore right through the paper. To coax color from the dabbers required repeated, emphatic thumping against the page—a delightful pastime for a child who enjoys the percussive arts, but not for mine. She much prefers sweeping lines and graceful strokes, ready to learn to write, not ready to learn to holler “Bingo!” in the fellowship hall. In short, these are faithful dabbers, yes—but only for those who love the dab. Aspiring artists may wish to look elsewhere.

Fabulous Product
Changed the tip to a sponge tip. Removed the liquid and added bingo dauber ink. They are GREAT for bingo. Other bingo players can't believe how easy and comfortable they are.

Fun but can be messy
These little markers are great for young hands. I definitely recommend for crafts and helping with motor skills. They are not less free though. They make far more mess than crayons and maybe even regular markers. All you have to do is push on the tip, which kids are prone to do, and lots of ink will come out. This can be good for projects but also allows for lots of body painting and wet ink everywhere. It does wash easily off the floor and takes a little more to get off hands depending on how much is on there. You do have to prime them to get the right amount of ink out but it teaches children about applying different amounts of pressure.
