Easy to set up
Great pen that forces you to practice penmanship. I love that this trend is coming back and proper handwriting is returning to our culture. The pen writes well when filled and the ink dries without smearing. Like any fountain pen you’ll need to monitor the length of time between use so the ink does dry out. The pen is plastic and has a case for durability and supplies. Very cool.

Retractable fountain pen with refills and a case. Inexpensive gift for fountain pen lovers.
I bought this pen because I was intrigued by the retractable design. I love fountain pens, and this retractable design let me use them in more day-to-day applications. It comes with extra ink cartridges that snap in with a distinct click. Takes some power to push the cartridge down to hear the snap. IT took a while for the ink cartridge to feed the ink to the nib. I let it rest, as directed, I shook the pen up and down and it still took a while, thus fewer stars. Writes smoothly. The case is worth keeping because it stores the entire pen and extra cartridges in a sturdy plastic case with snap on lid. Inexpensive gift for fountain pen afficionados.

starter kit for beginner fountain enthusiasts
it is not a main brand pen, but it does work and is a great starter set for students who want a change to play around with a fountain at a low price. Several of my students are taking it upon themselves to learn cursive, and as a reward I bought them these pens to help encourage them to learn more about the art of calligraphy and cursive script. The kit comes with everything a beginner needs to launch themselves into the world of fountain pens (plenty of cartridges)/

Nice pen for the price
Honestly? It’s a decent pen for the price. I’m kind of in love with fountain pens and really had to try this retractable one. I’m pretty happy with it. I think it would be fine for daily use. I could easily see it replacing any ballpoints I have. That said, it would not replace my more traditional fountain pens. It just feels a bit basic. And the ink cartridges themselves are on the small side. That said, you do get 5 of them, plus an empty one you can refill (the empty one will be inside the pen when you first get it; the 5 pre-filled are in the little box). It is definitely easy to install the cartridges; basically the same as other fountain pens. You I just place it inside with the nib pointing up, press till you feel the pop of the cartridge, and then let it rest a few minutes nib down to let the ink flow to the tip. The ONLY reason for the 4 stars is that the instructions on the cartridge box are not clear. They almost sound as if you’re supposed to press the pen or a “special ink bag,” but I think this was mistranslated. For the most part, no issues with the ink at all. Regardless of whether I wrote fast in a scribble or slow as molasses, there was no skipping, no blotting or pooling. Just a nice steady ink flow. And no bleed through, either. So, the ink is great. I do very much appreciate the refillable cartridge, too. All in all, I like it. It’s not a high-end pen, but it’s as good as any ballpoint pen out there, and it just feels nice to write with a fountain pen.
