This is a wonderful pen, I have been using it for about a year now. At first it took some getting used to and understanding the pen and what it is good for, but in all honesty, I found no flaw other than me not understanding how to use it properly, such as using it with certain mediums that smudged. Here are a few mediums that I have worked with along with this pen: copic markers: the copics tend to smudge with this type of pen if you use it right away. I did this a few times and ruined some of my artwork. Yet I did not realize if I just gave it about a half hour or so to dry, I would not have had an issue with it. prismacolor colored pencils: This pen and these pencils work like a charm together. I was able to get such nice lines for my character and color them in with the pencils for a nice vibrant look with bold lines. The only issue I had was the prismacolor pencils overpowering the blackness of the pen, but that was not a huge issue since I could just go over the piece again in the pen and everything would turn out perfect. Prismacolors are very pigmented anyways, so they will tend to do that with most inks regardless. watercolor: This pen is really not for watercolor. I would suggest applying the link of the pen after you are done with the illustration, and do it carefully. And last but not least, the pen alone is fabulous and well crafted, you really get the most out of your money with this product. Keep in mind the brush is a little stiff, but it could either be ideal or not the feel you are going for, so just keep that in mind before you purchase. Because of the stiff brush, you are still able to get thin lines, but not as thin as you would a much larger brush pen. However, this still depends on what you are working on and the look and feel of your piece. I would say this pen's shorter brush actually gives me more control, on the side of my larger brush pens, which balances out pretty well in my regards. Overall, I highly suggest this pen, whether you are doing illustrations, calligraphy or simple to try out, this is a wonderful pen, to almost professional quality ink for a really good price. I really enjoyed working with this pen for various lettering, illustrations and characters for various projects I work on for school and personal work. I have sold some illustrated commissions with the use of this pen and customers love the outcome. I would say in the end, it is up to you on what type of brush pen best suits you. This brush pen is typically more firm, but it is a nice change from having a really soft one such as my prismacolor brand, which makes it an ideal product to buy for variety in my pen collections. I hope this was helpful to anybody who needed a slightly more in depth review on this product,. =)
