Simple and useful
My five year old is starting to learn how to tell analog time and this is a great learning tool to have at home. Moving the minute hand manually also moves the hour hand at the appropriate speed. I like that the clock lists the minutes next to each hour. It is a bit small, but I like that that makes it easy to store. My only change would be that I wish the colors corresponded with each hand, but they are flipped. The hour hand is blue, so I wish the hour numbers were blue, and the minute hand is red, so I wish the minutes were printed in red. Would make it much easier for my daughter to remember blue hand, say the blue number, red hand, say the red number.

A Simple, Compact Clock for Teaching Analog Time
Die Medien konnten nicht geladen werden. My daughter is 5, and I thought it would be a good time to introduce her to analog clocks and how to tell time. With how tech-driven the world is now, many kids grow up not knowing how to read traditional clocks—but I still think it’s an important skill to have. This little learning clock seemed like a great starting point, especially since we don’t have any analog clocks at home—just digital ones. It’s smaller than I expected (just 4 inches), so I was a bit disappointed in the size at first, but it still works for teaching. The design is clear though, you can see the numbers easily and I appreciate that it includes both 12-hour and 24-hour formats. A nice touch for reinforcing the concept of time throughout the day. One thing to note is that you can’t move the hour hand directly—it only moves when you turn the minute hand. That’s actually a good feature for learning, since it teaches how the two hands work together, though it might be frustrating if you’re trying to set a time quickly for demonstration. It has a little stand on the back, which is helpful, but it only props up at one angle and doesn’t stay super sturdy on all surfaces—it can fall over easily. That said, it’s compact, lightweight, and doesn’t take up much space, which makes it easy to store or bring along if needed. Overall, it’s a solid, simple tool for teaching young kids how to read an analog clock. It’s not perfect, but it gets the job done—and my daughter has been excited to learn.
