Very easy install. Make sure to read the directions and you will be fine. An important note tho, if you are using an NCE dcc system, the instructions for the decoder say to use address "03" for first time operation. This did not work for me but the address of "3" did. Keep that in mind if you go to power this unit up and nothing happens.

Not a simple "drop in" decoder
The decoder required multiple consultations with the vendor and hasn't worked yet. Possibly the product has a manufacturing defect.
