Awesome for making birthday cards
These stamps are awesome for children that can't write their letters yet. My 4-year-old son made a lot of birthday cards with them because it was fun to stamp "Happy Birthday." One downfall to this product is it is hard to get the right amount of ink on it for young kids. If you press too hard, then you will get squares around your letters but if you don't press hard enough your letter won't be clear. Overall these stamps are fun and a good way to learn how to spell.

Melissa & Doug Deluxe Alphabet Stamp Set
Got this for my 4 year old and he really likes them! The stamps are nice and they come on it's own wooden box wich is great and to top it of they have their own stamp pad. I love the fact that all Melissa and Doug stamp sets come with their own stamp pad while other brands make you fell like you have to go fishing for a stamp pad somewhere. If you have a nice stamp set plus kid/s, you can NEVER have too many stamp pads. If my son wants to take the set somewhere we dont have to "remember" to pack the stamp pad, you just grab the set you like and there you have all you need(except paper of course). The only negative thing I have to say about this product is that I dont get how/why they sell it without a lid or something, there's too many pieces plus if your kid is the one doing the stamp cleaning chances are there might be ink residue, it could be something simple like the slide in plastic lid that comes with their magnetic numbers/letters set, or maybe a magnetic wooden lid..Also I wish there was a way to better guess if your letters will align as you stamp them! And I think the hourglass shape they have would work better with little hands if it was rotated so your fingers can grasp better. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!!

Handy Case and Sturdy Design Make this a Winner!
After having this for a while, I can still say they are great. Keeping track of them is a bit of a pain with a 2.5 year old but she loves them and loves to say the letters as she stamps. This ink pad is an improvement from the other M&D stamp set we have because it has a lid. This keeps the ink...ink. The stamps are a sturdy wood with a curved design to make it easy for little hands to use. The container is fantastic as well as it contains everything and can be easily stored away. The color range is limited but other colors can be added and stored in the extra little compartment in the case. I am very happy with this product and would definitely continue to order ink for it. My toddler loves it, my 7 year old neighbor loves it. The only "issue" is potential staining of the wood. It does rinse off well, though. However, if left on, it could stain the wood. I think kiddos of all ages can appreciate this product. It can be used for learning the alphabet or creating fun messages.

Great for our 4yr old and 2 yr old
So much fun for little kids. Although they like to mix the colors on the stamp pad (ages 4 and 2) they have really enjoyed these stamps. WE LOVE Melissa and Doug products as they are always high quality and great products for kids. As a pediatrician I am grateful for companies that produce products that are educational for kids but at the same time fun for the kids. These letters help them spell their name or simply letter recognition while still letting them be creative and have fun making designs. We got this product on sale around Christmas time and have loved it so much we would have easily paid full price to get it again. Would definitely recommend this product to others.

Perfect for classroom
I teach kindergarten and I ordered this for my students to practice stamping sight words. It’s a great purchase! I can use 1 set for 2 students since it has both capital and lower case. There is an ink pad as well and it’s been great and has lasted several months. Students can’t wait to have this as their stations!

Sehr gute Qualität
Das Stempelset hat eine sehr gute Qualität. Es sind wirlich vernünftige Holzstempel. Sie lassen sich auch mit kleinen Kinderhänden sehr gut anfassen, da sie etwas größer sind. Die Buchstaben lassen sich auch ohne lästige Ränder abbilden. Das Stempelkissen ließ sich anfänglich nur sehr schwer öffnen, aber, dass hat sich mit der Zeit gegeben. Die Stempelfarbe ist abwaschbar. Ganz prima finde ich die Holzkiste, da darin noch genügend Platz für eigene Stempelfarbe/Stempelkissen ist. Mein 3 jähriger hat sehr großen Spaß daran. Ich denke mal, dass es entsprechend langlebig sein wird und für seine Geschwister auch noch geeignet ist. Es ist aber auch zum gestalten von Geburtstagsgeschenken sher gut geeignet.

So many creative uses with this set!
I picked this up for very cheap, just over $9. It's been a nice addition to our small stash of education oriented materials. I play a game with my toddlers. We stamp the letter over a large piece of paper (in our case, its a roll of easel paper). I give each of them some gems (from the dollar store) and I ask them to find a letter. When they do, they place the gem on top of it. My youngest especially likes the little glass gems for this game because they magnify which keeps him entertained. We practice finding and repeating aloud the capital and lowercase alphabet this way. I spell out their names and direct them to doing the same. I ask them also to find an object, bring it to the table and we will stamp out the name of it. The children sometimes mimic me as well. There are so many creative options out there to implement with this set. We really enjoy this and get many hours out of it. So far it has helped with letter recognition and repetition, spelling, sounding out sounds and words, reading and to further the part about recognition, I like that it helps them to identify the lowercase letters and match to the upper case. This is a great set! Well worth it and I would have paid for it. It's another great and useful item from Melissa and Doug!
