High quality shopping basket - size is fine for a 2yo.
I purchased this for my daughter when she was 18mo old but we put it away until recently (just turned 2) because she was having a hard time holding it when she was younger. The basket itself is of nice quality and feels pretty solid. The food items were cute- they are made of of thick cardboard. She didn't really care for the boxed items but she did love the cans (she preferred empty snack boxes that she recognized). The cans come with plastic lids that were easy for her to get on and off. I'd also mention that the boxed food were disproportionately large for her cupboards in her Step2 walk-in pretend kitchen, the cans fit fine. Overall a cute shopping basket and is consistent with the quality of the Melissa and Doug brand.

This is an amazing product!
I cannot express how much I absolutely LOVE this grocery basket set! No, the food products are not made of wood. However, they are made of a strong durable cardboard that has lasted through heavy excessive use of my three and six year old. The cans have a plastic top that is removable to enhance imaginative play. The basket itself is made of metal and is a good strong quality basket. Realistically your child could bring it to the actual grocery store to use if you are making a quick trip there for a few small items. Overall, my kids absolutely love playing with this in their play kitchen. It has really upped their imaginative play as they can pretend to grocery shop then take the items home to cook. I highly recommend it!

Christmas gift
Got these to go with my granddaughters grocery check out counter she is getting for Christmas this year. I’m sure she will love running it through the scanner and look like good quality.

I would purchase again
Ok, so the basket is great size, quality, sturdy and such. However the items that are made of thin cardboard are not durable! They will be taped to restore them, then I'm sure after more play they will simply need to go in the garbage. The can food items are fine. I like the overall set enough that I do recommend this.
