Cute and educational
Cute game to learn about animal babies and to practice fine motor skills with the puzzle

Small pieces better for older toddlers
I may have to hold on to this a bit until my 1-1/2 y year old grand daughter is slightly older. This puzzle set is colorful and made of sturdy cardboard, but the animal pieces that fit in the puzzle squares are quite small and fit too easily in the mouth. The activities offer the opportunity to match the baby animal to its mom and then put together the six squares to form a bigger puzzle. There are also flash cards with the picture and name of the animal plus its juvenile name, so the child can match the individual pieces with the card, as well. Finally, a 3-fold booklet is included with what I would categorize as awkward rhyming ("As the sun rose in the sky, the zebra began to pry", and "the elephant, wise and slow, simply continued with its daily flow"). The idea is for an adult to read the rhymes and the child can place the puzzle pieces on top of the illustration as another activity. The set comes in a nice, thick box, tight closing box that keeps everything together. Overall, cute set, but not amazing.

Missing pieces
We are currently potty training our son and he completed his potty chart at daycare/school! We were so excited to finally turn in his filled out potty chart for a toy! My son loves puzzles! Only to have the package arrive and only come with cards and the little booklet. No puzzle pieces or animal tokens to be found, basically useless. Very disappointed.

Rhyming with the puzzle.. fun way to play
Mommy and Me is a super fun game for the family. Joyful rhymes are the great way to address sentence building and phonemic awareness. It has bright fun colors. The kids learn while having a great time.

Like the idea but not the execution
This could easily be a book rather than a game. The premise is to read through a booklet while child matches them up. Also has animal flash cards.

Engaging But May Require Adult Supervision
I got this cute and engaging puzzle for my niece, who loves animals, and she really enjoys it. The puzzle is colorful and has a good variety of pieces. However, the only downside I can think of is that the pieces are small, which could be a choking hazard for some children. I advise keeping a close eye on your little one while they play with it, but overall, this puzzle could be a lot of fun for them.

My toddler loves this adorable game!
This game is so adorable... my 3-year-old son loves it! I'm the only person he will let play it with him because it's a "mommy and me" game. It has a cute puzzle with cutout baby animals... on the back of each square is the name of the adult animal and on the baby cutout is what the animal is called as a baby (rabbit & kit for example). The puzzle pieces are thick and durable. There is a cute little pamphlet with a sweet rhyme on it... the baby animal cutouts can be placed on it for a matching game. There is a deck of cards with drawings that also have adult & baby animal names to keep the learning going! I love how educational this set is... it's perfectly age-appropriate for little ones. I am very impressed with it and I highly recommend!

Not much here
I will say that the materials are all fine. They are cute and my 3-year-old has enjoyed putting the "puzzles" together. I put "puzzles" in scare quotes because they are just single cutouts of a baby animal that matches with the mother. It took a little bit of doing on his part, but this will probably be better for 1–2-year-olds than 2-3-4-year-olds. And while he was interested, it hasn't been sustained at all. So you will get two, maybe three usages out of this before it's just another box taking up space. More on that in a bit. So, you all get a *single* "activity sheet." Again, scare quotes because there are no activities on the sheet. The description on the Amazon page makes it sound like multiple sheets with activities on them. You get one, and it's just a rhymed poem about the animals. In fact, the penultimate couplet doesn't even rhyme: sunset and seabed. Barely a slant rhyme on the last syllable, in my book. It's cute, but it's of limited use and interest ultimately. You also get a set of cards that aren't mentioned anywhere on the box, with no instructions or suggestions for how to use them. Basically, they are flash cards with pictures of animals and the word used for their young. This is more interesting to me than the 3-year-old, honestly, but it's at least educational. The cards are nice. All the materials are nice, there's just not a whole lot going on here. If they had included two of each card you could play a matching game. That would not add much in the way of materials but would add a whole lot more interest in the cards for my son. As for the box, it is big, well-decorated, padded, slick, very nice. For what? Look at the image. It's probably double what it needs to be. There's no need for padding. There's no need for a divider in there, certainly. It's a lot of wasteful packaging that will take up space when the kids get tired of it. And that will happen very quickly.
