"Pap" loves this item..
Very good, very sturdy. The only complaint we had was that the gates didn't stay up long enough for the train to get through. We bought additional activating track as the booklet suggested and now the gate stays up until whole train has passed through. Grandson James is going to love this and want to take it home with him for his beginning Lionel track set.

Awesome layout Lionel Crossing!
This crossing is outstanding. Love the lights and the bell. The bell is very loud. My only advice to Lionel to improve it would to be to add a volume button. If you aren’t good with layout wiring this may be tricky to get it working right with the included track blocks. Lionel customer service is always there to help with any questions and can help you get it set up right..

Grandson Loves It
Nice part of our train set. Unfortunately one of the flashers is bent so the lights quit working on it. How do I go about buying another flasher?

Functionality and durability.
This item is misleading by the picture it advertises because it appears to be leaning into the corner but in fact it's flat. I've only had it in my layout a few days and so far it is working alright but once again, for the price, it should. Durability is to soon to say. I receive these review request so soon after I receive the items, it's unrealistic to give a complete review.

The lighst go out, very quickly.
I bought the Polar Express along with some tracks and and this crossing for my four year old. The concept is great and the workmanship is very nice. The only problem, and it is a big one -- The poles come out at the joint even with a slight touch and the connecting wires break and, the lights go out. One could still play the sound but the repair of the wires is impossible because the way they are made. All in all, it is not worth the $60 that I spent.

Needs a delicate touch
Tracks work great. The crossings are VERY fragile. Won’t repurchase

This is not a toy
I just installed this crossing signal with bell to my layout and it sounds and works great..The one thing you must remember is this is not a toy. You must read the directions before installation and the stanchions are very fragile. But once put into place it should operate for a long time.
