I love this notebook. The line spacing is just generous enough that people with larger handwriting and imperfect vision can still use it (important if I'm quickly jotting down names and contact info on the go). But it's not so wide that people with smaller handwriting will feel like they're wasting half the page. This notebook does have a header/footer, so if you like the top-to-bottom, edge-to-edge paper, look closely at product photos and see if this will suit your needs. But the header/footer are small, they take up very little space. In the lined version, the printed lines aren't so faint they're barely visible, but they're muted enough to not distract from what's written on them. I love the very faint lines/grid/dots in other notebooks but I do need the guidelines to keep my writing level, and those very-faint guides are nearly impossible to see /cause eye strain in low light. The Leuchtturm lines are visible in low light while still being subtle. The paper quality -- first, if you need true white paper, this isn't that. It's a subtle, beige-y off-white. And it isn't the hair-strand thin, silky smooth Tomoe River Paper, but honestly I like it just as much. Yes, there's a bit of "feedback" on this paper that you're less likely to experience with TRP, but I don't mind, and sometimes even prefer, a little feedback. But with my entry-level Lamy pens, there's not a significant difference between this and TRP or the other go-to paper types people prefer for fountain pens. So yes, it's also great for fountain pen use, and most inks. The only two inks I've had trouble with are inks that (with a medium Lamy nib) also bled through TRP, Stalogy and Clairefontaine paper, so those particular inks were the problem. A fine nib seems to mostly solve that issue, too. Disclaimer, I haven't used it for any kind of sketching; the amount of ink used when sketching and shading might have a different result. But my hunch is that it would probably work as a sketchbook too, though you might have to put more thought into which inks you use on this paper. To summarize, this is a great choice for anyone who needs a portable notebook. Between the Leuchtturm B6 (a bit smaller, and my first preference) and the A5, you really can't go wrong if you need affordable, travel sized notebooks with high quality paper.
