I recently picked up the LEGO DREAMZzz set 71478, The Never Witch’s Midnight Raven, and I absolutely love it. It’s a 1,203-piece set, which makes it a satisfying build without being overwhelming. Here are some things that make this set really special: Dual Builds You can build the majestic Midnight Raven, but the fun doesn’t stop there: it can be rebuilt into a raven-hut or into three nightmare creatures (a walking house, a cauldron spider, and a giant raven). The raven has movable wings and feathers, the spider has a movable cage and legs, and the house has an opening roof and door. The set includes five minifigs: Mateo, Astrid, the Never Witch, plus the doppelgangers Dizzy and Dogan. There’s also a Z-Blob figure. Story-Led Instructions The building instructions are story-driven (inspired by the LEGO DREAMZzz TV show), which makes building feel like part of a bigger adventure. What I Really Liked The imaginative flexibility: rebuilding into totally different shapes keeps the play fresh. The color scheme is really striking, dark blues, black, and hints of pink give it an eerie-but-beautiful look. Bricks Up The minifig variety adds to the storytelling: from the heroes to the villain, it feels like a whole dramatic scene could unfold. The quality feels very LEGO: sturdy, well-made pieces, and enough detail to make the transforms feel meaningful. A Few Minor Things to Consider Because of the piece count and complexity, it’s not a super quick build you’ll want to set aside time. The alternate builds are really creative, but if you love one mode more than the others, you might spend less time on the parts you don’t rebuild. It’s big when built, so you’ll need some display space for the raven-hut form. Overall: If you’re into fantasy builds, creativity, and modular design, this set is a winner. It’s beautiful, fun to build, and gives you way more than just one look. Highly recommended!
