As you can see from the swatches, most of these activate wonderfully with water, resulting in very smooth, bright colors. Two or three of the earth tones are kind of chalky/grainy, and one color behaved like it was mostly a regular colored pencil and not an aquarelle--the unstamped* #59, Grass Green. As you can see from the second photograph, the lines completely failed to disappear. *a few pencils have left the color names unstamped. Two have the color names MISstamped. All pencils have the color #s stamped correctly! I have looked up the correct color names where there are errors. In all cases, if there is a (color name) in brackets, that is the correct color name according to the Koh-i-noor website. It looks like this: Pencils 1-5 are fine, they have the color name stamped on them and it matches the number: Pencil 1 - #1, White Pencil 2 - #41, Cream Pencil 3 - #2, Light Yellow Pencil 4 - #3, Yellow Pencil 5 - #4, Dark Yellow Pencil 6 - #126, unstamped color name, but looking the number up on the Koh-I-Noor site reveals that it is (Persian Orange) Pencil 7 - #5, Orange Pencil 8 - #170, unstamped (Pyrrole Red per the site) Pencil 9 - #48, misstamped as Carmine Red, (Dark Scarlet Red per the site). Pencil 10 - #132, unstamped (Carmine Red per the site). You get the idea.
