This item was a gift. My niece 8 years old loved it. But didn’t have an easy time making it. She had fun trying. The color was good, the creativity was good. But she had a hard time. The concept and everything was great.

Dislikes: - the clay is very hard and is not easy to roll into ropes or thin sheets like the instructions want you to do. The palms of my adult hands were bruised (I’m not even kidding) after attempting this project with my kids. - My kids weren’t able to actively participate because their small hands weren’t strong enough for any part of this activity. - once you roll the clay into a flat sheet and shape it into a lantern, the clay can’t support its own weight so the lantern collapses over - the clay NEVER DRIES! it states on the package that the clay will remain in its current state forever. This means that you can never trust your child to be alone with this lantern because you’ll end up with colored clay residue on your furniture. - they provide a TINY (4x5inches) sheet of plastic for you to use to roll the clay on(to protect your table surface). But the clay is so hard to roll that it is absolutely not possible to roll the clay on this tiny plastic. The plastic sheet slides all of the place - I manipulated this clay on a large cutting board and then set aside the ropes of clay on my sealed concrete table until I was done rolling every color of clay into a rope. The clay must me mixed with some type of plastic, because when I picked up the ropes of clay I noticed a line of clear plastic residue where each rope was sitting. It has been 3+ weeks and I have cleaned my table every day with various cleaning products and sponge textured. Nothing will remove the plastic - not even magic eraser!! My table is ruined.
