Fun way to learn about Japan!
Loved this drawing kit! Got it for me and my 3yo son since we are learning about Japan right now. Pros: It comes with a good variation of high quality colored pencils. The paper is thin but smooth and feels high quality. I loved the different pictures included in this set. There’s ramen, sumo wrestler, sandos, sakura flowers, Mount Fuji and anime style people as well. The colored pencils can be placed back in the plastic container attached to the front to keep it together. Cons: The storage plastic part is nice but it is disruptive to the notebook while coloring if you wanted to fold it to have a flat small surface to use. You could just draw on it with it open if you wanted it flat. You can also just remove it entirely so not the end of the world. Overall, I did think it was great value for the money. I loved the variation of pictures and of course the quality of the colored pencils are great.

Have realistic expectations.
This is a coloring and drawing not for kids with student grade pencils. It’s not artist grade materials that a “freelance artist” would find useful not so I think that was the manufacturers intention. For what it is, it’s a great set. The pencils blend well for student grade materials. The pictures are well illustrated and fun with a good mix of simple images and slightly more detailed images. This isn’t an adult coloring book so you don’t have to worry about super detailed realistic images. The paper is thin so no markers hut colored pencils and crayons work well. It comes with a bunch of extra drawing paper at the back so your kid can draw their own images of Japan. I do think it’s lacking in a few areas though. There are only 20 pictures to color and the rest is drawing paper. They give you a pencil but no fine liner or pen to ink your drawings with. It makes more sense to include some drawing instructions like they do with the chibi anime set or more coloring pages in place of plain paper. I also find the cover to be annoying and I had to take out the pencil storage. I’d rather have it be a solid cover.

Fun and beginner-friendly drawing kit
This anime drawing kit is really well put together. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and the included pencils and paper feel high quality — not like a cheap add-on. I got it as a casual weekend project and ended up spending a few hours sketching without realizing how much time passed. The step-by-step pages make it approachable even if you’re new to drawing. Compared to other beginner kits I’ve tried, this one feels more thoughtful and actually helps you improve instead of just providing supplies.

Decent Set Lacking Refinement
This is a decent set for kids but not something for experienced artists. There are odd choices made throughout the set. The pencils are fine, but lack good blending abilities. The set includes a mechanical pencil but no eraser or pencil sharpener. The pencil pouch is attached to the front cover as if it's meant to stay there, but if you leave it there, you can't lay the book down flat to color it. The pages are printed on both sides so you can't easily color both. There are blank pages int he back for kids to draw their pictures to color, but there's no ink pen for making the lines bold and no drawing instructions like there are with basic coloring instructions in the front. The package is expensive as just over $20 for pencils that aren't the best, missing accessories, and an un-thought out book.

Adorable Book; Double Sided Pages-
The media could not be loaded. Like the other books in this series, this one has adorable coloring pages, although way more than the other books, and just a few pages of instructions for drawing (there is still blank paper as well). The first pages are printed on semi gloss colored paper, while the rest are just about your basic printer paper. Following the coloring pages are a bunch of blank pages for sketching/drawing. The included supplies are pretty good; some colored pencils and a mechanical pencil. No eraser is included. The downside to these books is that the coloring pages are printed double sided. It's a bit of a bummer for those that like to use alcohol markers as opposed to colored pencils. This book is really neat, with fun pages, but it would have been awesome with single sided coloring pages and maybe less blank paper.

Neat little drawing/color kit
This is perfect for the anime lover in your life, and gives a fun little activity to do. The little book includes various coloring pages filled with designs and characters to bring to life with the included pencils. The back half of the book is left blank for creativity to flow, and to draw your own characters or scenes and fill them in as you see fit. The included mechanical pencil is of top quality, and rivals a professional pencil worth the whole price of this kit. Overall, this is a neat little activity set that's perfect for people of all ages

Nice Quality and Culturally Inspiring
This is a fun anime coloring kit that my son really enjoyed. The pencils are nice quality, and the paper feels sturdy and smooth. It’s a great way to introduce kids to Japanese culture while letting them be creative and learn at the same time.

Nice quality Faber-Castell pencils and a well bound book
I'll confess to knowing next ot nothing about Anime, but my god daughter does, and she approved. The book itself has a sturdy cover and back, and is well bound. The paper inside feels nice - thin, but smooth and nice quality that takes color well. The included mechanical pencil and coloring are Faber-Castell, a brand I recognize and generally think of as high quality, and these were no exceptions. Definitely a nice "stay busy on the plane" gift or stocking stuffer.
