Incompatible en France
Je pensais que les produits électriques vendus en France disposaient d'une prise compatible avec les structures françaises et bien pas pour ce produit. La prise est au format américain. Je n'ai pas envie d'acheter un élément supplémentaire pour rendre exploitable mon acquisition. Retour....

Incompréhensible !
Les explications sont incompréhensibles, après plusieurs re-lectures je ne comprends toujours pas si le cc est variable ou pas, ou encore de qu'elle manière, en analogique, la 2ème loco est alimentée, sauf si elle est sur un circuit isolé.

Simplicity without any fiddle
Bear with me here.....now..... Despite having one of these myself, I've never had the need for actually using this controller previously, but still have my old one. To explain my father had it, didn't want to keep it & handed it on to me. Anyway, recently he got in touch and asked me where it was. I told him it was in storage and he just said "Ach, I'll get a new one". I purchased this through Amazon, it was sent to him directly and is THAT easy to set up, a registered-blind partially sighted chap of 79 can manage it. If you're the old school modeller who can remember the Hornby 910 & 920 big chunky control boxes, then this will feel nostalgic and yet a large improvement on them, but still with a nice big dial you can turn. Way way better than the grotty little black/red things added in trainsets anyway. Best results are by soldering the wires to the track directly, not using the track clips that Hornby supply. The main benefit my father has from this is being capable of operating 2 lines without the required 2 mains sockets or power packs. It's reasonably lightweight but heavy enough not to slip around when in use & saves having 2 small controllers needing to be screwed to a board. My father has never been happier and I think he would like to have another, even just to operate a third line. If you want to run DC with a touch of luxury, get this & bin the cheap black efforts

Disappointing start but overall very good. Amazon service impressive
I bought this product as a Christmas present for my son. However, upon opening, one of the controllers would not work and the unit was running rather hot. After spending an hour or so trying to trouble shoot I concluded that it was faulty. Given the inevitable disappointment I was nevertheless very impressed with the speed by which Amazon had a replacement. I reported it on Christmas day and the replacement arrived on December 28. Disappointment mitigated ! The controller itself feels very solid has a nice quality to it despite being entirely plastic. The only downside is that the directional switches could be more positive, there is no definite click when switching and they feel less solid than the rest of the device. I noted this too on the defective device. I would not be surprised it they were the first components to eventually wear out. Otherwise a solid device but not quite 5 stars.

Expensive but does what it should do. Best Hornby analogue control.
