dopo avere svolto l'equivalente di first-sight reading, questo libro va proprio a colmare i buchi restati. E' forse il più bel libro della serie dell'abrsm tra i 30 che ho acquistato negli anni, insieme a quelli di teoria, che sono anch'essi magnifici.

Helps with sight reading
I’m buying this series from the fist book , and now my daughter is getting ready for abrsm grade4 exam, this book is made in accordance with scales necessary to learn for the exam, with different time signatures. Good to prepare yourself for the sight reading.

I have really enjoyed this book. It's very simple and to the point and I feel it has really aided my learning. I have also purchased a few others in the same series at different difficulty levels.

Another weapon in the struggle to sight read
I am very impressed by this new series of books. As a piano teacher I am constantly on the lookout for new ways to help my pupils improve their sight reading and there are several good approaches already on the market, which develop different angles on the complex problems of this skill. Alan Bullard has innovatively tackled the need to read and play comfortably in different keys - how many times have I heard pupils struggle through their note reading whilst treating the key signature as an optional extra! So he blitzes the need for familiarity with the geography of each key in the grade. My pupils have found this makes a difference, and they like the creative side, where they have to invent music in the given key - it helps to establish their sense of which notes they can use and which they should avoid. I was tempted to give five stars as it is well considered, clear and nicely presented. I'm giving it four in acknowledgement that it is not a complete answer to the thorny problem of sight reading - no single book can really do that in my view and this is a really valuable addition to the armoury.
