A lot of fun and a good first tail dragger or indoor airplane.
I have flown this one outside and have seen it flown indoors and it performs well but be warned, it can't handle winds over 7 MPH but on calm days it is a lot of fun outdoors. The stabilization system helps a lot in trickier situations even for more experienced pilots and with it disabled basic aerobatics such as loops, rolls and flying inverted are all possible. Personally I do recommend 250 mAH cells for extended flight times and the motor does wear out because it is brushed but replacement is easy and replacement motors are available.

Perfect beginner plane, quality unit
I bought this to get back into the hobby after 9 year break. Well built plane. Once you get it set up it will fly itself in a straight line nicely. Easy to fly and land. Also note wing has control surfaces so it responds just like more advanced planes except slower and easier to fly. This is better than learning with a plane that just uses the rudder and elevator to fly. You will make the jump much quicker to more complicated plane.

Great little plane!
Had it out for two flights so far in a very small park and on a day with a bit of a breeze. It's a fantastic little plane. Paired right to my Spektrum transmitter, and I already had batteries and chargers from other small aircraft. This thing's flight time is impressive though. I have 5 batteries and I cannot see myself using them all in one session unless I start seriously pushing the plane to the limit. Even in a light breeze it only took 1/4 to 1/2 throttle to maintain enough speed to have good control, and the SAFE modes helped keep the plane controllable even in gusts of wind. Take the plane out of SAFE mode and give it some gas though, and I had it doing small loops and hammerhead turns even in my tiny flying area. I do wish it had a bit higher pitch and roll rates, but I haven't experimented with servo adjustments to get there yet at all, and I think it can be done. All-in-all, a fantastic little plane for $100 and perfect for beginners or intermediates with limited space! Edit: after a few more days I am still super pleased! Adjusting the throw of the servos solved the pitch and roll rates and now it goes from easy to aerobatic on a switch. Also it flies in a shockingly large amount of wind.

Throttle channel very hard to bind
I bought the Cub S and the matching Spektrum DXS transmitter. After many, many attempts, the throttle channel would not work. All the other channels were fine. I tried all the suggested remedies (such as reducing the throttle trim), to no avail. I finally returned the Cub and bought another one. Same problem. I then bought a second DXS transmitter. No help. In desperation, I repeatedly performed the binding process and suddenly the throttle channel worked. Since then, I have had to bind the system over and over to get the throttle channel to work. NOTE: The receiver does not retain binding after the battery is disconnected. NOTE: The receiver is not accessible. You can't use a binding plug. I could not get a Spektrum DXS5 to bind. I only had success with the suggested DXS transmitter. Once I finally had the system working, the plane flew very well. But the hassle ruins the whole experience for me.

Great for indoor flying
This is popular with my R/C club for indoor flying. Through the magic of AS3X and SAFE, it can fly outdoors too. Read the instructions please, because this plane uses a custom SAFE configuration. There are 3 settings (not 2 like you might be used to): beginner, intermediate and expert. Beginner and intermediate include rudder/aileron mixing, which is cool. Most of us use B or I indoors, even though we are experienced pilots. One note: you should buy a spare Prop and Spinner (part number HBZ4401), and a spare Prop Shaft (part number HBZ4404). Here's why: The prop screws onto the threaded end of the prop shaft. On a rough landing the shaft will shear off (the prop shaft is thinner than a toothpick), leaving the shaft nib threaded inside the prop. You can't remove it, and thus both the shaft and prop are destroyed from one rough landing. Most of us have several of both on hand during our indoor flying sessions. It's amazing that this plan can fly on one tiny battery the size of a piece of gum.

Excellent flyer for novice or pro.
I picked this up because it was a great deal but I did not expect much from it. Boy, was I wrong. This is perfect for someone wanting to check out flying and has all the features to have a positive flight. It is also great for the pro when at the flying club when you just want to buzz around and have fun without setting up a larger, more expensive plane. I very happy I made the deal and bought it. I won't fly it every week but it's there when I want to.
