Quality piece of track!
Well, despite the terrible USPS shipping and tracking which was late and actually reported the item lost, I finally got it today. On inspection, it is Atlas quality and will be a much appreciated addition to my track. Instead of trying to attach wires under the track which, while possible, is a hassle, this allows attachment to a proper terminal.

Atlas True-Track straight Terminal Section
A 9 inch long piece of straight track with a terminal connection. Track comes with wiring to connect to the power supply. This is part of the Atlas true-track system

Best Ever Track..........
The nickel silver (zinc) makes for a dependable track electrical connection at all times. I have had the non, and it corrodes electrically. I had to clean it often to get an engine to run, time after time. Atlas also makes the best connectors for the snap together concept. Try some and don't look back. *Note: I was actually able to lay the track over my existing track. I super glued joints at curves, and got the track flat with RTV silicone, black Permatex, and weight overnight, just a few strategic gobbs as needed on center. Get plenty of rerailer tracks, they work well.

DIDN'T WORK!
I built a 6'X8' twice around HO scale track using all Atlas code 83 track and was having dead spot issues. After trying all kinds of things, I replaced every piece of track with brand new Atlas code 83 HO scale track. This was the last piece to arrive so I was still using the old terminal section and the new track was working much better but still had dead spot issues but nowhere as bad. When this arrived today, I replaced the old Atlas code 83 terminal with this one. After connecting the wires, setting the train on the track, and turning on the controller, I got absolutely NOTHING! I even pushed the steam engine by hand around the track to see if I could feel or hear anything inside the steam engine indicating it got power but nothing. So, I took this new piece off and put the old Atlas code 83 HO scale terminal back on and the engine took right off running around the track. I'll have to inspect and play with this terminal more later on to see if I can get it working but it's not even worth the time and effort to send it back.
