Well Made Play Food
I labored over the decision of which play food to get for my 2.5 year old. I had purchased the Pottery Barn versions of Hape's toaster, coffee maker, and stand mixer because I preferred the white and natural wood colors as opposed to the standard green and yellow. Satisfied with the quality I opted to purchase the Hape play food as well. I'm glad I did. The size is perfect for little hands and the wood is heavy and resists denting. The paint has not chipped so far and the illustrations are pleasant. I only wish the lids came off the yoghurt and jam so that the pretending to eat from them felt a little more authentic. It would be nice if the caps on the juices came off too, but they would be a choking hazard if they did. As it is, the only choking hazard in this set is the small straw in the juice box which I have put up for now. With the straw removed, this set is suitable for any age.

Adorable and durable toys
I received this set in the mail yesterday. Everything was packaged wonderfully. I have wanting to get a little play kitchen for my 19 month old daughter. A lot of the available play kitchens are big, plastic and sort of cheesy looking. I ended up getting her the Duktig Mini Kitchen from IKEA which is a beautiful wood playset that looks great in our family room and her little brother will also be able to play with it since it is gender neutral. I purchased this food set from Hape because of its apparent quality and craftsmanship. I wanted play foods that will go with the kitchen I purchased, food that encouraged healthy eating, and food that looks durable enough to survive years of play. This was my first time purchasing products from Hape, and I am already a fan! Beautiful toys.

The Eggs with carton are the best part !
This is a great product, especially the eggs in the carton! Why? Because they are true to size, and in my opinion, Not a chocking Hazard, like other play eggs available. The carton is a durable clear plastic that hold the 3 eggs. These toys will last. The only complain I have are; the small chips in the wood that have been painted over (not smoothed out) or paint imperfections that need to be better inspected in "quality control" in the factory. This is a good Addition and investment to your play kitchen.

We LOVE this!
This play set is awesome. I love all our Hape toys-- I find the quality, design and finish to be far superior to other wooden toy brands-- and this set is no exception. I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my son, and he is absolutely in love with it. He plays with it almost constantly, and we have had zero problems with chipping or other wear despite the fact that he is by no means gentle with it! If I could change anything, I would wish that 1) the juice box was something different from OJ, since there is already a bottle of OJ in the set and 2) I wish it came with a full 1/2 dozen eggs in a container instead of just three, but really this is nitpicking. Love this, and will definitely be buying more Hape products in the future.

Great Quality Set, 1 Minor Design Flaw to be aware of
We love Hape products. We bought this set to compliment the Hape refrigerator my 2 year old also received for Christmas. The set is the high quality we expect from Hape and my daughter loves the variety of foods included, especially the yogurt and the juices. My one complaint is that the straw in the juice box is removable. My daughter immediately put her mouth on it pretending to drink and came away with the straw hanging out of her mouth. Seems like an unnecessary choking hazard, not sure why the straw has to be removable. We simply took it away, which is ok but takes away from the juice box feel of the item. I also wish it came with a different type of jam than the toaster set. We now have 2 blueberry jams.

Perfect wooden grocery set!
This grocery set is super cute and simple. The eggs even came in a plastic carton, which was perfect for the market stand my kids received for Christmas. The wooden straw in the juice box can be removed and it’s a little too small for my comfort level with my 15 month old. Other than that, it’s perfect!

Love These
These are adorable! My little one's favorite toy is her is play kitchen. We've recently added this (along with the Hape Salad). They are inline with how we eat so she's easily able to incorporate her experiences in with her pretend play. They are a good size for her kitchen as well. Tiny without being awkwardly so. They fit in well size wise and look wise with Melissa and Doug kitchen items.
