Let's get value out of the way. Yeah this is 45 dollars at the time of this review. Yes there's other cheaper, not less expensive, cheaper versions of this. I'll tell you this is worth every penny and here's why. When that cheap version falls apart or just randomly stops working and baby needs her woobie stuffy whatever you call it you'll be wishing you had this one. Super cute and soft and just the right size for a little one. Stitching and finish work is great no loose threads etc. This is built to durable enough to survive being handed down or kept til they go off and leave home one day. Most importantly the colors the feel of the materials the sound and lights are all built very intentionally and deliberately to help calm baby and engage their senses and help with development. One of the hardest things for parents particularly new parents is getting used to the lack of quality rest and sleep. This is better and safer and clearly more portable than a car ride to soothe baby.

Adorable and High-Quality Plush Otter, Worth the Higher Price
This is an undeniably cute little plush otter. Its design is sweet and appealing, making it a lovely addition to a nursery. Importantly, it feels very safe for babies, including newborns. The materials used are clearly of good quality – they are soft yet durable, and constructed in a way that gives confidence they won't easily come apart, even with handling by little ones. There aren't loose parts or obvious hazards, which is crucial for a baby toy. Beyond just being a plush animal, it incorporates soothing features like sounds, gentle lights, and a unique rhythmic breathing motion designed to calm babies. These features add another dimension to the toy beyond its cuddly appearance. It must be pointed out that the cost is relatively high for a plush toy. However, considering the excellent quality of the materials, the safe construction suitable for newborns, and the added electronic soothing features, the price feels justified. You're paying for a well-made, thoughtfully designed item. It's more than just a stuffed animal; it's a good quality, multi-functional soothing plush.

Great soothing plush
How cute is this soothe n snuggle otter plush! It's very soft to the touch and one of my infant nieces favorite plush toys when I have her over. It has soothing sounds for her and really seems to help her into a nap. I've washed it a few times already and it's help to great! One of the best items for sleep time! The perfect size for a baby.

I'm excited for this
This is my third baby and I've never had something like this for my last two. The material is soft and the different settings are great. The night light isn't too bright, and the battery life isn't bad. The auto shut off is a good touch to help save it and last longer. It's lightweight and works great for both my older kids as well. My oldest has issues falling asleep, and he has taken it a few times, he has ADHD and is on the spectrum and this little thing has helped calm him in general. The price tag is a little steep in my opinion but overall it's really cute and makes a great gift.

New favorite stuffy ❤️
My 2 year old absolutely loves this little otter. She's never been a great sleeper and she tends to have separation anxiety, though she's mostly sleeping through the night (with an occasional random cry then going back to sleep). But I thought she might enjoy it anyway because she's also very sweet with her stuffies, patting them and tucking them in to go "night night". Well, it is definitely a hit. She takes it everywhere and loves the breathing and the snoring sound. Anything that makes her this happy makes me happy, and she's so darn cute with it. One note for use, it wasn't clear to me that pushing the inside buttons was only something that needed to be done once to set the preference, but that's the case. I just pushed the snoring sound button and adjusted the volume, then closed him back up, and now she just has to push the tummy to turn him on and off.

A great gift for the new baby in your life, I would highly recommend this.
If you tried this item previously, try it again. It's great now. We purchased one of these several years ago for our niece's baby and it had some problems, but Fisher Price listened to parents and grandparents and fixed the previous issues. The fur is soft and feels cuddly. The belly is stiff due to the electronics inside, but it doesn't spoil the overall feel of the otter. The light on the tummy is a soft glow and the breathing motion is natural. You can select several different sounds and combinations of music, heartbeat (womb-like sounds,) and white noise. As a terrific bonus, the electronics come out so the cover is machine washable! This is a great gift for the new baby in your life.

Comes with batteries already installed and good control of features
This came with batteries already installed so that it was ready to go and needed no setup. You press on the belly and it lights up, plays the music, and the belly goes up and down like it’s breathing. You press it again and it turns off. The back is velcroed together really well; it would be difficult for a baby or a toddler to open up. When you do open it up, there are separate buttons so that you can turn on/off one of the features instead of having them all one with the press of the belly. You can also adjust the volume. The battery cover requires a screwdriver to open, and it takes AA batteries, so there’s no worry about a baby accidentally swallowing a tiny button battery. This is really great quality and seems like it will last a long time.
