Very good value
These rockets are fairly easy to build and flew as advertised. The boys from my Royal Ranger Outpost (3rd - 5th graders) had a lot of fun building and launching these rockets, while also earning the Rocketry Merit. I recommend them to any Ranger Outpost or Scout Troop.

The bulk pack was a great bargain
Bought this for my boy scout troop. The kids (13yr) were able to follow the directions. A good glue is recommended. We tried to use standard elmers glue. Rockets were launched multiple times and kids had a great time.

Much like the original. Instructions could be better.
My first rocket in the 1960's was an Astron Alpha. The design of this model is almost identical to the original. It is a sleek, easy-to-build and high-flying model. I bought the bulk pack for a school rocketry class. They came undamaged, and students enjoyed building and flying this rocket. It actually requires careful assembly of the fins, engine mount, launch lug and recovery system. This provides valuable experience. My only gripe is that in the interest of internationalizing/simplifying the instructions, they have become somewhat vague and harder to understand than in the past. More detailed directions and larger, clearer illustrations would help beginners.

Fun but hard
I got these for my Air Force JROTC students. The instructions were hard to follow and the students struggled. One of them was broken when I opened the box.

Good first rocket, and bulk pack is much less expensive
Alpha has been the traditional first rocket for many years - it was my first rocket forty years ago, and it hasn't changed much since then. (Plastic nose cone instead of balsa, laser-cut fins instead of cut-your-own, and adhesive stickers instead of waterslide decals.) This bulk kit is *much* more economical than the individual rocket kits, if you need more than six or so of them.

Easy to assemble
Flew great. Students loved the experience of assembling , customizing and launching their own rocket.

Science themed birthday party, no problem
Used these for a science themed birthday party. Took some pre-work, but fun times all around.

great
Bought the 12 pack for my class to build after reading Rocket Boys. Even ones with no model building experience got a kick out of doing this. We eschewed the stickers and custom painted them instead. Haven’t flown them, however, due to COVID.
