It glides across paper
OMG, it’s beautiful in appearance, my friends and financial adviser gasped when I brought ut out ( for the financial adviser, my “lucky pen” when signing new accounts. The flow across a page is smooth, as long as you use the right paper (low wax content, actually cheaper pads from walmart). Otherwise the ink takes too long to dry, not ideal for a leftie. I like this pen so much that I buy paper that works for it.

Excellent quality pen
This pen was so well made and had a wonderful nib it writes so great. so smooth and constant good flow of ink. The only thing I had trouble with was the weight of the pen I have small hands and some arthritis and the weight of the pen was not comfortable for me my hand was hurting to use so I had to return the fountain pen. The fine nib was one of the best ones I have used it seems a very true fine size nib some other fine nib pens seem to write bolder but this one does not write heavy. This pen is so well made but to heavy for my hand. I liked it so much I considered to keep it but decided that I probably would not use it very much and maybe be sorry if my hand starting hurting. I liked the converter that comes with the pen it was good quality also. But the best thing I liked was the quality nib. I hope ellington makes a lighter pen in the future because there are so many nice things with this fountain pen. I loved the red color also !! The Quality is excellent,wonderful pen !! Thanks Judy

A beautiful pen to hold and write with
I love writing the old fashioned way with pen and paper rather than electronically, especially so if I am using a fountain pen. This pen is a joy to use. The weight feels perfect, it’s ideally balanced with or without the top secured at the end, and the nib just glides across the paper. It takes bottle ink which is so simple to fill, yet for convenience you can use cartridges as an alternative. I really do wish that Ellington would offer calligraphy nibs/pens as well, with the same detail and quality of the current selection. That would be just perfect.
