Donner Hush I Silent - Toll, wenn man weiß, wie
Preis/Leistung passt. Ich wollte eine einfache Reisegitarre mit wenig Aufwand zerlegbar. Die Gitarre ist gut verarbeitet, die Bünde sauber entgratet und allerlei Zubehör ist auch dabei. Einzig die Halseinstellung ging gar nicht, ich hatte einen Flitzebogen. Wer sich damit nicht auskennt, ist direkt aufgeschmissen. Nach Einstellung habe ich jetzt eine sehr passable Reiseübungsgitarre. Das gibt’s sonst nur für sehr viel mehr Geld

Excellent
This guitar is massively underrated and a hidden treasure. I've had it for a while and never had to tune it! The sound is better than most cheap guitars, whether “acoustic” for practice (although mind there's no resonance chamber, which is kind of the point) or with pickups. And more importantly, of course, the portability is real. But it doesn't hurt the playing feel; the little metal extensions (removable) make it almost the right shape, so you can hold it pretty naturally, although I personally feel safer with the strap. Mine came with a free Donner tuner, which is also quite good. The new generation has a tuner built-in instead. There's also a little allen wrench to make tuning easier, although again, I haven't needed it at all yet. The fact that someone tuned it in the factory or warehouse or whatever, put it in the case, boxed it, shipped it around the continent, and it's still in tune, is honestly mind-boggling. One thing I'm not in love with is the piezo. Now, the Hush-I is supposed to simulate an acoustic guitar, and it does. It feels just like playing an acoustic (except for the resonance) and it sounds pretty nice too. But that means it has a piezo, not pickups, and… the sound you get from it naturally is nice, the sound you get from the piezo when you plug it in is nice too, but they're *not the same*. There's substantial difference, and that threw me off a bit when trying to record a demo. Unless you know what you're doing better than I do, you might be better off recording it with a microphone instead. Now mind, of course it's excellent *for what it is*. This is no Fender or Les Paul that will give you the best value for you skill (if your skill is higher than mine) and it's not something you want to bring to a big gig. But if you want to practice at 3am? If you want to do some songwriting at 3am without getting evicted? If you're going on a trip and you want a guitar but it's not worth paying extra for bringing a big one? You literally can't do better than the Donner Hush line. This is the state of the art for travel and quiet practice.

Unbequemer als gedacht!
Eine englische Rezension titelt hier bereits "Wanted to love it. Just couldn't.", mir geht es genauso, anderen mag es anders gehen. Was hatte ich mich auf diese superhübsche Reisegitarre gefreut! Tagelang die durchgängig begeisterten YouTube-Videos geguckt! Positiv: Handwerklich sauber gefertigt, mit einem überwältigenden "Knuddelfaktor", im clever zusammengestellten Set. Negativ: Es kommt einfach keine entspannte Körperhaltung zustande wie bei üblichen Gitarren, ich bemühe mich jetzt auch nicht um längere "Anpassungsversuche", der Artikel geht zurück. Fazit: Super Design, aber das nützt nix, wenn man beim Spiel verkrampft.

optisch hochwertig, Klang nur befriedigend
Eine sehr schön gefertigte Übungs- und Reisegitarre, die einen wirklich guten Qualitätseindruck vermittelt, deren Klangqualität aber nicht überzeugt. Akkorde klingen einfach "verwaschen". Die Hush X mit ihren Humbucker Pickups klingt deutlich besser.

Piccolo ingombro, buona chitarra silenziosa
Per quello che costa e per l'ingombro è perfetta. Necessita di un buon set up, l'action è troppo alta. L'ho dovuta restituire perché la volevo portare in viaggio e non entra in valigia. Potrebbe entrare in una valigia veramente grande però.

Very pleased with the guitar, as a travel guitar and silent practice guitar.
I am very pleased with the Donner HUSH Guitar for what it is and the specific application I purchased it for: to have a very portable travel guitar, with a full-scale neck, available for an upcoming trip. To keep your chops up and your repertoire stage-ready, over an extended trip, it's nice to have a travel guitar that breaks down this small — only 33 inches X 6 inches in it's case. There are several options for travel guitars: including guitars where the neck folds, or very small guitaralele's which have shorter necks and usually tune to a different scale. I've owned several other travel guitars. However, I want to play in the same key and have my fingers learning and practicing the same placement and stretches as my full-size guitars. I don't want a little tiny 1/2 or 3/4 size guitar that sounds like a child's first guitar. The Donner HUSH fits the bill perfectly. The fact that it is a silent guitar with a built-in headphone amp is a plus also. Traveling in a car I can play this short headless guitar and not bother anyone else in the car, even though I can hear it in headphones better than if I was trying to practice with a traditional acoustic guitar. With the braces removed and inside it's case, the guitar is so small I can't imagine not being able to carry it on a plane, which is the main reason I purchased it. Given the relatively low price, the quality and playability seem good to me. The sound in headphones isn't as refined as the Yahmaha silent guitar, but it doesn't cost as much and it breaks down to a smaller size. I've owned 2 Yamaha silent guitars, both the nylon string and the steel string. This time I chose this over the Yamaha, because it's smaller, more affordable, and all I am buying it for is a travel/practice guitar — period. It is a piezo-based acoustic sounding instrument, not like an electric guitar powered by magnetic pick-ups. With processing from pedals, an IR loader, compression, saturation, and reverb, I'm sure the sound could be brought up to a very respectable acoustic-guitar-like quality; but I probably won't ever perform in front of people with this guitar. It's about practicing silently and traveling. Although, if an opportunity demands it, the guitar will plug into any Bluetooth speaker with an 1/8th inch input, or a regular guitar amp's 1/4 inch input, so in a pinch, you could gig with it. Having said all that, now, after owning the guitar and playing it for a few weeks, there are a few improvements that I could suggest to the manufacturer — simple, inexpensive improvements that could raise the guitar's performance and value to a much higher level. I will probably work on that wish list and submit it directly to Donner, but again, I'm happy with the guitar.

Excellent Lightweight and Portable Guitar - Exceeded Expectations!
I recently purchased the Donner Hush-I through Amazon, and I must say, this guitar is exactly as advertised and as praised by all the YouTube influencers. It is the real deal! It is incredibly lightweight, making it perfect for travel and practice sessions. The sound quality is fantastic both on its own and when plugged into an amp. I have taken this guitar with me on a couple of trips, and it has been a lifesaver. It's so convenient to carry around, and my wife appreciates that we don't have to make room for a full-sized guitar in the car when we go on road trips. Although I received the wrong color guitar (Mahogany instead of Sunburst), I actually ended up liking the colour and decided to keep it. I did reach out to Donner Canada to inform them of the mix-up, not expecting anything in return. To my surprise, they promptly issued a refund through Amazon, which was amazing customer service. For anyone in search of a small, lightweight, and portable guitar, the Donner Hush-I is a game-changer. It has truly exceeded all my expectations, and I can confidently say that this is a high-quality product.
