You must like snug fitting pads (tight tolerance in relation to size chart), and have the patience for them to stretch just enough to comform to your proportions (yet still remain snug), and you must have the correct proportions per the size chart. If you have a slender build, these pads should work fine, if you like pads that fit snugly. I purchased size XXS in used condition for about six dollars because according to Dakine's size chart on their webpage, XXS should fit my arm, and it does, but XS would have been more comfortable. The cut out pinches my arm skin and causes a bit of chafing; however, it only pinches my skin when my arm is bent at about 90 degrees, which it won't be while biking or riding an electric scooter. The pads are perfect for light trail riding, and slim fitting, so you can wear them under clothes, which is why I bought them (for winter use). The pads look amazing, feel durable, and a good value for the price; however, sizing is a challenge. Taking the pads off and putting them back on feels like eternity, and the pads will fight you every step of the way (maybe 2 or 3 minutes to put the pads on or remove them), but spending 12 hours in the emergency room, and having two surgeries on a broken elbow will remind you that the pads are putting up resistance because that's what you want then to do in a crash (stay in place). I have POC pads too, and they fit tightly, but they are shorter so they put up less resistance when putting on and removing. I expect these Dakine pads to stretch with use, and actually dampened them after putting them on, which seems to help them adapt to my arm better. My arm at the top cuff is 10 inches in diameter, and my arm at the bottom cuff is 7 inches in diameter, which calls for an XXS per Dakine's size chart. I recommend these pads, but you must pay careful attention to the size chart, and your own measurements, and expect the pads to fit tigher than a wetsuit. Amazon delivered the pads, then I put them on and took a nap while wearing them because they are tighter than what I am accustom to wearing; however, I forgot I had them on.
