This was perfect for my little guy. He is nearly 3 and about average size for his age. It was a little baggy which is fine. He can wear it next year if he wants. Quality is decent. It's open in the back but covered by the cape. My boy had clothes on underneath since it's not thick enough or warm enough to wear by itself.

Perfect for us.
This is just right for my son. I'm happy with the purchase, though there were a couple things that I'd have changed (hence not a full 5 stars). The material was a little thinner than I expected (though not as worrisome as some other reviewers felt). I think the sizes DO run a little small. I bought the 2-4 for my 2 1/2 year old son expecting it to be a little baggy on him. It is a perfect fit. If you're looking to buy this for your 4 year old you will probably want to look elsewhere. My only complaint, really, is that there could have been another velcro enclosure or two down the back. The opening was pretty wide (leaving the back bare if he doesn't wear a shirt under it). I had some sticky-back velcro kicking around so I just slapped it on there, so it was an easy fix for me but mildly inconvenient. Overall I am happy with it and my boy is the cutest little Superman you ever did see.

Meh
It's a cute costume, but the quality is not very good. It feels like a thinner version of felt. It's true that the sizes run really small. I bought the 2-4yr old size for my 22 month old and it fits him almost perfectly. I can't imagine a 4-yr old fitting into it. The back of the superman suit doesn't have a closure. The cape is velcroed on to the suit to cover the opening in the back. I guess for this age, this is good enough. You can actually wear clothes underneath if it's cold outside. I kind of wish the material wasn't as cheapy feeling. I paid $[...] for it, but I think it should have been more like $[...] for the quality. Oh well.

Superman winner!
I loved this costume. My son is 18 months old and it fit perfect. He didn't even know the cape was on and was extremely soft and comfortable. We bought the 2T to make sure it was long enough for him. Definitely suggest for anyone looking for a simple but classically cute costume for their boy.

Lousy fabric, and my son developed a rash all over his body.
NOT WORTH THE MONEY. The fabric is a thin, scratchy, and not comfortable material. The sewings are not even well done. But also, even though I pre-washed the costume before my son wore it, he developed a rash all over his body. He wore a t-shirt underneath the jumpsuit and the ONLY area that did not develop a rash was the area that the t-shirt covered. I also had a very bad experience with the fabric in a wonderwoman costume I purchased for my daughter which had a dye that came off with water - imagine that on children's skin... (That was also this brand Rubies). PERSONALLY, I WILL NEVER EVER AGAIN PURCHASE RUBIES COSTUMES.

Size is off. Smaller fit range than the chart states
Pros: - material wasn't any thinner than some of the other costumes in the same range but don't expect a super durable costume, think 1 ply thin felt-ish. I think this would last a few parties if Dennis the Menace wasn't wearing it. Calm kids should do ok. - came with a cape - graphical design overall was not bad - feet holes so sneaker are ok, some other designs are like onesies Cons: - The is a deal breaker! The size chart is off. My just turned 3 yr old son is avg about 50% and this says the toddler is 2-4T. Barely fit him - Not that room around the crotch area so if your child is wearing a pull up, that makes this snug - because of the above, I didn't even have him try to sit, it would definitely tear - neck is odd, pretty small actually. Strangled my son (he's not a chubby kid) - the velcro used is cheap...cheap. they were small 3/4 dime diameter velcro that held the cape and strangling neck on. on a rambunctious kid? Really?? plan to reinforce it with more velcro or safety pins if you dare. Bottomline, it arrived, I am packing it up right now to return it the next day. If you insist on getting Rubie's brand costumes, go for the next size up unless your kid's smaller than average. They don't account for if the child maybe wearing clothes underneath, height/weight ratio or just plain moving room. So example: this 2-4T - really would have comfortably fit my son at 2 but no more than 3 yrs old. Shame, I didn't hate this. The other costumes that had the puffy chest gets annoying after a while so what's the point. Sometimes a plain ole' costume with proper graphics is all that's needed for worry free fun. This is kinda that idea, only smaller. When in doubt, opt for the next size up.
