Don't order just one!
Why did I not think to order a Chinese Jumprope sooner? I had so much fun with these as a kid! My girls, 6 and 4, LOVE this thing. It's great for teaching agility and balance. A great plyometric workout (once they get the hang of it), and they can use a couple of chairs to hold the rope if they don't have enough people willing to stand! My oldest will be taking it to school for recess fun. The elastic seems durable but the fabric coating (or whatever it is) will likely fray a tiny bit with use. My only regret is buying just one. It would be great to have another so they can both jump at the same time.

I loved this game when I was in elementary school so ...
I loved this game when I was in elementary school so I was excited to share it with my kids. Oh, boy, I am not as agile and limber as I used to be! ;) I have been very happy with this jump rope and the quality of it. We've played with it as it is intended as well as letting my toddler run around with it, having a great time. So far, I am pleased with the quality of this toy as it has held up nicely.

Works..
Cord fraying after very little use but still functional. Not like the Chinese Jump ropes I grew up with, but still gets the job done.

using it for mild exercise for seniors
My sister and I played with these as children (our elementary school didn't have playground equipment so all of the girls played Chinese Jump Rope or jacks). I bought two of these to take on a 3,ooo mile drive (each way) with some friends. I thought this little bit of exercise when we take our stops won't be so taxing that no one will take part, regardless of our ages.

The kids had a great time learning the chinese jumprope with this rope. I bought a few other cheaper ropes from the party store, but this jumprope was the best. It is a little wider and a little softer on the legs (if you are the one wearing the rope around your ankle). So far its held its elasticity well after some light - medium use.
