Fantastic Wooden Play Set – Durable, Fun, and Full of Imagination!
The Bigjigs Toys Burger & Fries Set has been a huge hit in our household! With 48 well-crafted wooden pieces, it offers endless opportunities for creative pretend play. The quality is top-notch—solid, smooth wood with vibrant, non-toxic paints that feel safe and durable for little hands. My child loves building their own burger combinations and serving up fries to the whole family, and it’s been great for developing fine motor skills and imaginative storytelling. I also appreciate the eco-friendly aspect of the set. It’s clear that Bigjigs has put care into making a sustainable toy that doesn’t compromise on fun or durability. Perfect for ages 3 and up, this play food set is a brilliant gift idea that provides real play value and holds up to enthusiastic daily use. Highly recommended!

It’s cool that it comes inside a box…
…but that box isn’t structurally sound. When closed, it has a roof like popup. It’s fine if you’re getting this for your own kids and just discarding that, and the tissue papers in my set are mostly ripped. The ones on the burger patty stuff are neater. The ‘round’ hole in the cup for the straw, again, it’s not done neat/clean, looks rushed or done by hand. Maybe my expectation of bigjig stuff is too high. And I contemplated getting this being fast food (unhealthy) but thought it may help promote healthy food relationships. It’s £23 so, if I focus on just the intention (the role-play aspect) it’s 4.2/5, but if I take the way it arrived and that it looks used or demoed before being shoved back in the boxes to me… and I was getting it as a gift, or it was more expensive, it would be 3/5 or returned (for me).

Really great little set. So much fun, well made and painted, and nicely boxed
How fun is this?! A really relatable to modern life set, as every kid will know these items, even if they’ve never been to a burger joint in their life. Kids will love this, and adults will get a laugh at the subject. I also really prefer giving wooden toys rather than anything plastic; they’re always well received, as they look good enough that they don’t need stowing away when not in use, and can be left out on a toy shelf. I’ve actually ordered a bunch of these, as I know this company does great stuff and I know this particular type of toy always goes down great, so that’s me sorted for birthdays and christmasses for four nieces and nephews! I also really like that Bigjigs wooden sets are FSC certified sustainably sourced wood, and the box comes marked with full EN71 toy safety standards confirmation. They’re also always really nicely packaged, which makes them perfect for gifting. I do like the more unusual sets like this as well, as they give the opportunity not only to play-cook (always good to get that skill baked-in early, if you’ll pardon the pun! ;P ), but they also enable playing at shops and cafes, which is an addition play-role opened up. My nephews and nieces have a load of these sets now, and the more kits, the more of these sets you can combine, offering more opportunities for play. So this set is the supa-cute burger and fries set, and in it you get a little card delivery box (I’m not sure how long that’ll last, but to be fair it’s corrugated card, to make it a bit more robust), a carton which you can fill with the wooden fries, a little drink cup with pull-out straw, the wooden top and bottom of the burger itself, some bacon, two burgers, an egg, some pickle, a tomato slice, and thick felt lettuce leaves and holey cheese, plus cute little wooden ketchup packets. You also get a little folded menu that has some burger recipe ideas on it, plus a napkin. I think that’s everything (let me take another look!). It’s actually a 48-piece set, but to be fair a lot of those are chips and a few are card items. But there’s still a lot there to play with. All the pieces are really nicely printed and painted with smooth finishes. I really can’t fault this set. It’s so much fun, it has a lot of pieces (and a lot of them can be used elsewhere in other kits)--it’s so fun to look at, let alone play with. I actually can’t wait to take it down to for my sister’s kids, I know they’ll love it. Recommended.

Good quality, but not very playable and expensive
I got the stew set from the same toy company and was very happy with it, but the concept doesn't quite work as well for this takeaway set. It's a little more awkward to play with wooden burgers, and the fries packet gets torn and damaged easily. The takeaway box handle was torn after a day or two. My toddler kept sticking the fries into the cup and managed to get one in so we now have one rattling in the cup - the cup should've been made smaller so that the fries couldn't get stuck in it. While all the individual components are of excellent quality, more thought should've been given to the design and playability of it. It's also quite expensive.
