Great set and great options to buy
Great DCC starter set. I chose to get used like new and was not dissatisfied. The set arrived in virtually unopened condition with a slight tear on the edge of the box. Highly recommend to anyone just starting into the hobby

Neat little train.
I'm new to model railroading, so I bought this set to learn to use the dcc. It is nice, ran great right out of the box. It works on the 11.25 radius curve track. But the 11.25 radius track is not for all locomotives I bought another locomotive, but it requires 12.5 radius curves or greater. I'm waiting on my 14" radius curves now.

I think N scale may be too small for DCC
I had the same experience as another purchaser. It ran good for a couple of months and then it failed. It will only go forward about 1 inch, and then it stops and idles. The only way to get it going is to put it in reverse. It runs great backwards, but as soon as you stop it and try to go forwards, it goes an inch and stops. Since it is less than a year old, I will be sending it back to Bachmann for repair or replacement. I'm sure they can fix it, but how long will it last? I'm just afraid that it will only last long enough to get out of the warranty period. I got it back from Bachmann and it now goes forward fine. They said that "the drive wheels were out of adjustment". I'm having a little trouble wrapping my head around this one. I never knew that drive wheels were adjustable and have never run into this before with any other locomotive I have owned.. There may be a further problem in general with Bachmann N scale locomotives. Both this, and another locomotive I have (a Bachmann "Light Mountain", will occasionally "stall out" going over a genuine Bachmann 30 degree crossover. Interestingly enough. If you turn the sound effects off, both locomotives will negotiate the crossover smoothly every time. I am in communication with Bachmann about this.

Ran great right out of the box.
Fun train set. Be advised it is N scale so it is small. You may spend some time getting it on the track. Update: stopped working after three days.

Good product.
I LIKE, one of my best steam locomotives...Would make a nice gift for a youngster..but I would add a few more cars. And it has great sounds !

Nice DCC Controller Loca lacking big time 2 orders same promlem
Well I'm on my 2nd one in 10 days. Loco will run fine backwords but goes one inch forward and stops. for 300 I excpete a nice Loco, but its Junk. Very light derails with any turn out not everytime but 50 percent of time. Bachmanns EZ track is OK but again made on the cheap. I would give it 2 stars but the controller is very good and easy. I recomend no to this item. I will update after the new Loco arrives but for 300 I think you can do Better. UPDATE 1-31-21 Amazon sent me a new set... after about 2 hours of use Issue, one of the Loco wheel bars came off. see Picture This product is junk. Track is cheap Loco is soooo cheap and light. Don't buy this set...
