Roaring Rails DCC
My first DCC train. For the price, this is a good N scale starter set. So far, works well. DCC and sound are pretty amazing in such a small locomotive. Would recommend this as a first N scale train, but if you really get into these trains, they can become very expensive. This scale is very small for young kids. I would prefer HO, but don't have the room. I had HO and N over thirty years ago. The quality has gone up, and so has the price.

Throttle issues
Really like this set. Less than 3 months throttle went on on ez command. Very expensive replacement. I have trains of 10+ years still running. Sad day at Cajun-N-Scale

Everything You Need for Good DCC Train Experience
This train has all the DCC functions for light, sounds (2 different horns), bell.. as well as a silencer which makes the train run in the older “normal” road so it quieter. I was buying it to replace an older n scale locomotive and upgrade to DCC with the new controller. Some of the reviewers were not kind but that has not been my experience. At this price I’d say its worth it, unless you are looking to spend a lot more!

Terrible customer service
We got the train as a gift for our son, for some school break fun. LOVE the train, but hate the customer service. After one day the trains sound card started to make a constant crackling noise. So I called the company direct, after waiting 1 hour on hold, I finally got someone. They insisted we mail the train to them for repair and the turn around time could be 3-4 weeks. Yes, half the summer, I don’t think so. Since Amazon actually sold this train directly, I called them. They called the company, and got the same lady who was ticked I didn’t “understand” the first time and said I would have to mail in the brand new product for repair. Don’t think so. Returned to Amazon. So customer service is a 1 star. Train is a two as the sound card broke in a day.

N scale DCC train
My locomotive worked great for a few hours over several days they the bell and horn stopped working. I mailed the locomotive back to Bachmann for repairs within the first week.

Very overpriced
Nothing to like, track had missing part. Train set extremely fragile, broke after first use. Very overpriced.

Works great for me.
Some folks prefer Kato track. The Bachmann track works fine for me. I haven't yet tried connecting the frogs in the turnouts from the expansion sets. This was a fine way to get a DCC system, with a sound-equipped engine. Doesn't compare with systems costing 3 times as much, but you wouldn't expect it to. When I first set it up and powered on the loco, my response was "YES!!". Buying this set has triggered me to buy far too much other N-Scale stuff.

Set came as advertised
It is a great little set to get started with, definitely plug and play. After the train goes around a few times you will be looking for expansion sets lol.

bad Bachmann controller
It arrived on time with a set of the controller and the train. As setting it up for the first time and I noticed that something was not right on the controller. I did the trouble shootings but no change. Now the controller has no lights that could mean it's dead. Now, I have a dead Bachmann controller. I emailed to the Bachmann customer service about it but no response more than a day. It's very frustrating.

Not bad for a starter set but the tracks are poor quality..I spent lots of time trying to diagnose a fault in a rail joiner. DCC sound is amazing from such a small unit. The overall detailing is amazing
