For the money excellent
Having used the spoon method of ballast spreading, and with 200 plus feet of track to go, I needed to speed things up. I found this basic ballast spreader to work well. With some brief practice you can get the proper speed down for moving the spreader. You'll still have to fine tune in it with the brush, but really sped things up. Well worth the money

What a pleasure this was to lay down my ballast on my ho track. I used medium ballast and once it goes it lays it down nice and even. You have to tap it while you move it along your track or it can get stuck. I did my whole layout in less than an hr. My lay out is 8x10 U shaped. Very please with how it turned out. Sure beats the spoon. Sorry I have no photos cause I’m in the construction stage.
