Stock vs stock
Great little truck! Came with oil shocks and the tires are slightly bigger than my basecamps tires so its slightly more capable (basecamp has falken wildpeaks and the 4runner has toyo open country mts). Heavier than my stock basecamp as well. But truck looks amazing and would absolutely purchase again. Thay being said, I DONT think its worth $50ish more than the basecamp stock for stock. I think your paying for the hard body and oil shocks which looks fantastic and the body clip mounting system instead of velcro, theres not to many differences. If you want a decently capable living room crawler and just want it to work get the 4 runner, if you want to upgrade and enjoy the tinkering get the basecamp.

Very nice looking truck and solidly built. Does a good job crawling in stock form. I like it but I still prefer my fcx18 head-to-head.

Worth Every Dollar.!! Such a fun way to get into the RC hobby without spending 3 or 4 hundred on the full scale. This is my 3rd axial SCX24 and I love the scale details as well as the abundance of upgraded parts.!! Very durable and the compact size fits perfect a backpack.!!

So much fun, it's made me skip dinner and lose weight.
This is my first time working on any RC crawler and although I lack the experience, I am happy with this purchase. It's fun to play with, even more fun to upgrade parts. For a dad like me, it's a lot like a fidget toy. Keeps my hands busy and I like having to figure out which parts would help improve performance as well as the look of the vehicle. It's a licensed body so it is a bit more expensive than the other models. Quality is good at its price. For starters, you may want to upgrade wheels and tires to improve climbing.

So top heavy! Looks good but did not preform week right outta the box. It's a rc car you need to do extensive mods to make it a proper rock crawler. The redcat ascent18 and traxxas trx4m outta the box out performs this axial. The wheels do not look scale. They look way way too big for this truck. Although it looks good....you gotta dump a few 100 bucks into it to get it rock crawling ready. Great for goddess I guess. But this was for a gift for a 10yo. He dont got funds to upgrade and needs a real rtr rock crawler.
